Gday all. This is my first scratch build of any kind. I chose the Millennium Falcon as its one of my favourite ships & theres alot of refference material to help me out. To start with I had to find some Blue prints or Base Plans to help me get started with correct sizeing & shapes. The Millennium Falcon is a tricky ship to build because of its shape. I found some some Base Plans through this sites http://www.studioscale.com/thefalconmodels.htm forum http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MFalcon/
The plans are drawn up by Josh Maruksa & seem to be the most accurate available. During the search for plans I started collecting kits for the donor parts(parts used to kitbash detail) used on the studio model. There are quite a few & not all parts are 'confirmed'. I then had to get some sheet styrene(plastic sheet) to cut the base shapes & frame work from. I also needed new tools as I did not have any for this sort of work. So I had my plans, plastic styrene & tools ready to get started.
