I seem to have that effect on people sometimes. I'm glad that everything's ironed out with paypal, and that this will continue to the end as planned. I hope to have good news soon - I'm slowly regaining interest in the four foot X again. You can credit everyone else here for their inspiration by not giving up on their builds as well as, the fact that I'll be able to get casting supplies soon! I love seeing life given to shapeless things, and watching everyone else do it while I can't is very frustrating to say the least! I'm just glad that the wait will be over soon. I need to kick everything into high gear - September's coming soon, and with it the fall. Our weather's been unGodly hot, and wet lately, meaning that well probably get a lot of cold weather later in the year if it keeps up as it has been for the last two months. This will allow me more time to cut acrylic outside.
I love watching this come together, Jase. This will be one of the builds to watch until it comes to an end. I just hope that there won't be any more delays when it comes to finishing it.

This build is cursed. Im really getting over this thing. One thing after another. Last night I realised why my ports didn't go together right. I glued them in the wrong sequence & upside down. I couldn't believe it. I honestly was ready to take the hammer to it. My ports are a disgrace & am not going to post any pictures of them. Im really over this for a while. The ports have got to be completely rebuilt. Im not having the rubbish Ive made on this build. Im just going to work on the rest 7 not even look at them for about 5 years until I get to the end of this mess....

Jason, Sorry to hear about the engine ports, that sucks!! Sometimes I think the same thing about this project being cursed. But, we're only human(well, some of us are LOL) I get down Sometimes on this build, But, you all are there to pull me out of it. YOu'll get it take a deep breath!!

SLLLOOOOWWW DOWNNNNNN, Jase!! Damnit - SLOW DOWN!!! Don't hurry yourself trying to get too damn many things done at the same time! Look at your references, and examine the parts you're working with to ensure accuracy BEFORE gluing, or doing anything else. Make sure that they all face the same direction, and that they are the same shape. If you have parts that are cut down from the original size on the area you're working on - make sure of this before you attach them to the hull. These are just a few of the things that you'll run into when copying an ILM/Apogee model. Keep this in mind, so you don't drive yourself crazy wondering why parts don't fit where they should. Remember when you had to cut the Rocos in half lengthwise to get them to fit? Pace yourself, school's going to be back in session, so I'll have the house to myself, and the neigborhood will be all quiet again. This means that I'll have plenty of time to get a lot of work done without distractions.
If you need to - make sometime for yourself when there's no one to bother you, or take away from your attention to details. You need to stay on target - stay on target.... Slow and steady wins the race.

Slowing down is right. I can't believe how far you and Phil have gotten on these things already. Don't work on it if you feel any pressure to get it done quick or feel like you're under a deadline. Let it sit and come back to it when it feels right.

thanks fellas. Im just going to sit on this for awhile & work on my Shuttle. I'll be helping Brad with his build & moulding some parts that are needed like the Raider parts he has. I also have an SS Raider that might be some fun & not so much work to finish in a reasonable amount of time.

There is a Colonial Movers ref thread in the 'Reference' threads section. SS 'Battlestar Galactica' builds can be posted in this section also. Not just 'Battlestars'. That means all ships used in the show can.

Ok I got back from Movie World after visiting Brad. hI ad to give the kids some dad time!Thanks for having me over again Brad & whil the Battlestar looks like its just been attacked by the Cylons she's going to be ok mate. Anyway Brad gave me his Fujimi F15 kit to use until mine comes next week or so. Ive been hanging to get these drop tanks on & pretty much finish the sides up. The last of the 211's I casted are on & look pretty damn good I might say. She's starting to look tuff with all the gear on. Looking forward to starting the bottom Brads also loaned me an SS Raider they used to sell that was cast off a studio model. I now can mould & cast the 'Engine Intakes' & the 'Battery Cover' that go on the bottom of the engine deck. i didn't even know about the battery cover part off the Raider until Brad showed me
. I just want to stress that the kit Im casting parts off is not a Salzo Raider. I would not recast someones work. I was going to get the Raider sections from Mike Salzo but am now using these that are from a studio model. So I should be able to supply the group these needed parts 
Anyway Ive had a good day & a stoked to finally be wrapping up the sides. I just need the part that goes on the bottom side wall under the 88mm Flak Gun part inbetween the 2 Fujimi Drop Tanks?

That's more like it, Jase! Now you see what can happen when you slow down to take a breath. There's no flashes of genius going off in my brain, just a slow neverending thought process of how to figure out how to get the job done.
Tomorrow starts the new week, and I have to leave the forum to get a few months' work caught up. I won't be around to bounce ideas off of, but Phil, and all the the other guys will be here to lend a helping hand when you need it. Just remember - slow and steady wins the race!

I appear to have the parts you are looking for on my model. Trouble is, they are nowhere to be found in my notes and I can't get to the model to get a good look at them (it's in storage at the moment). Near as I can tell, the parts appear to be gold, meaning they are likely from the Quad Gun Tractor or British 25 pound Field Gun. If not, then it's a Tamiya 1/35 armor kit molded in tan.

EDIT: Oops, you are asking about the parts between the two drop tanks on the starboard side, not what I thought you meant. I don't have those parts on my model. I'll have to see if I can find a clear pic. Sorry!

For some reason, when I click the attachment, I get a small pic and the parts aren't clear at all. I found a larger version on my harddrive, so I'm referring to that. For your parts #27 and #30 in the parts map pic, I can't see either one clearly enough to help. If you can post a sharper image, I'll give it a shot.
Before, I was talking about a grouping of parts just in front of the forward drop tank. These are apparently not symmetrical from port to starboard. I detailed the port side of my model, but I haven't started the starboard side yet. On the port side, it appears to be a combination of Flakvierling and Quad Gun/25 pounder parts. Some of those parts don't seem to be on the starboard side (if I'm reading this pic correctly).
Next, in the pic where you circled the parts in between the two drop tanks, the bottom part looks like a piece from the Bandai 1/24 M60 A1 that's also on the top of the main body (i.e. lid). There are a couple different sizes of this piece, and it is used several times. I could be wrong, but that's what it looks like.
The part under #18 is the chassis to the Roco 215.

Thanks Charles. There aren't many 'clear pictures of that section unfortunately on the the corner. Under the Flakvierling part that sits on #18 is another part? A door or hatch or something. The #14 part isn't from M60 as I checked that when Brad also mentioned it looked similar. Its too small to be any of those from the M60 unless it was shortenned though we can clearly see a base edge around the bottom. Unless its from a smaller scale kit!

17, 18, and 19 are sitting on the chassis (i.e. bottom half) of the 215 (flipped upside down -- you are seeing the underside facing out) which appears to be labeled as #26 in the photo. Then, below that (on the ceiling of the trench) is the upper part of a 215 cut in half.
Tamiya made a 1/35 M60 tank. Maybe the mystery part is from that? I have that kit and will check if I get a chance and can remember. . .

Worked a little on the engine bottom this afternoon. Have borrowed Brads Raider parts while he's doing some reworking in his. Things are lining up better than I thought which is a nice relief. Just go to get my own Raider parts from Mike Salzo & shouldn't take long get sorted.

Not really Dougy boy.... I messed up one of my Wostok cuts for the outer engines! I need another one now but thanks for the words boys. Thanks Brad for laoning me his Raider parts to line things up. Am getting a new body section cut on Wednesday. Im sure the measurements are right on the file this time.

Can't wait to get this section together! i have all the raised panels cut also. So its just scribing, beveling & kit parts. Be glad to have other areas to work on rather than the one. Can get tireing just working on one area.

Ok rechecked the paterns & theyre pretty good. I guess having like 4 sets of plans is doing my head in... The measurements are pretty much exactly what Richards given & Im pretty confident in richards workings so will knock up the body over the weekend..

HOLIDAYS!!! Wicked. Ive spent the morning cleaning & tidying the work shop. Its Sunday here so have told the kids its my day & you guys are getting catered for every day for 2 weeks so back off!! Hehehehehe. As if! The little buggers are under my feet every step... Workshop clean & tidy now. Am just sorting my acrylic & may have a reasonable update on my body or my Shuttle or my Viper or my Colonial Mover. I bought TJ's kit which Im really looking forward to as its a beautiful kit but I also have 1/2 if not more of the parts required for a scratch built Movers? Hmmm still not decided on that one? The Falcon is now back on a bench also as that part Phil found the other day was one I/We've been after for some time(You the man oe er Wombat, Phil!) Stay tuned my friends.
Phil Im so tempted to go the CR parts as it would seriously make things so much easier & faster but Im committed to 'this' build being completely my own work. I may need a couple of pieces though for the top front section if I cannot scratch them myself. G;ead to have you around Phil. It really isn't the same here without ya.

Why thanks there Jase,it works both ways,it hasn't been the same not having you guy's up on my screen here either.Still,i'm back for now and hopefully for good.I've started to miss the bench after all this time and that build on there ain't making a lot of progress on it's own none.So i really need to just pull me finger out and get back to it.Just need those acrylics i thought i already had in the system but apparently i didn't confirm it with them so they wern't.
I must ring them tomorrow and see what is happening with them but this week is already turning out to be another hectic week and i might not get time to get them anyway.
Now,thats a lot of builds bud,good luck fitting all that into your schedule.That part i found was just luck bud.I'd only just seen it during the week as i had been looking through that kit,so thats why it was fresh in my mind.BTW,that part is also used twice on our G builds also mate.I only just seen that last night while looking at some of Sean's maps.Looks like i need another one of them kit's now and you'll need three all up to cover the Falcon also.

Um errr a little while ago. Last school holidays actually. I have school holidays off with the kids. I work through Christmas when everyone is normally off. Ive 'finally' started on the body so I guess i can make all he mistakes first. Heheheh its not going to be a walk in the park...
The Shuttles pretty much assembled other than a few minor pieces which is a massive relief. That can almost be scratched off the list.

Ok sneak peak of the body. Its hard to see as its invisible at the moment. Like Wonder Womans jett back in the day(oh god she was hot!). The acrylic is very clear. Not as complex as Charles's master build, but should do the job. Its not perfect as Im still rough at Illustrator for the patterns so needs some working. Its a start. I hope to have all the raised panels bevelled & the top section scribed over the next day or so. A scary part is I have to cut the bottom panel so it can fit around the armature... Should maybe have thought of that earlier!
I have to cut some slots for the arms once I figure the right placement. I also have my arms cut from acrylic aswell as the neck. I believe my neck is wrong. If your around Richard can you send me what you have for the neck measurements please?

That looks great Jase! No tricky angles to worry about this time.
Plough into it mate, there's lots of fine detail to do on the top, but it's not as complex as it may seem. The scribe lines are mainly what makes it look so detailed on the lid. The sides are just kit parts.Mike
