I've been busy working on a couple of side projects that have me definately sidetracked, but after I get those done - it'll be smooth sailing back in the saddle again. Thanks Man, Still here for now, Hopefully it's not something terminal. My family and I joked that they'll finally figure it out during the autopsy. I know, we have a dark sense of humor. It's easy to get sidetracked. I do it even when I'm not sick. I go back and forth between projects. So many models so little time, Cheers,Joe RE: Joe's Big "G" - JAWS - 08-10-2010 That might be the problem Joe. These glues & plastics are killers. Are these whats getting you ill or is something else? Check the Ref section later. I got given some stuff you'll like. I wear a respirator when I work with any nasty solvents. I learned that in the military. We had a lot of real toxic stuff to work around. Of course I can't rule out some exposure that I didn't know about. I'm going to have them check my blood for any nasties. I don't have insurance right now, so it's hard to get to the doctor as much as I'd like to. Cheers, Joe RE: Joe's Big "G" - JAWS - 08-11-2010 That is so crap you guys don't have accessto Dr's without paying. You were in the Military? Aren't you covered for life? Thats really bad. I feel sorry for you Americans with your stupid Health Care system. Get well mate. I wish I could get it through the military, but they say I have too high a net worth. I guess they want me to sell my property, in order to get coverage, Oh well, thanks for the well wishes. I will fight it off one way or another, Cheers,Joe RE: Joe's Big "G" - 427 Cobra - 08-13-2010 I'm sorry to hear about your health troubles, Joe! I've been having problems with my health for the last two years. It seems that nothing can make it better. I've seen doctors about it, but there isn't a whole lot they can do about my gastrointestinal problems that have caused my health to take a dive, but I've been a lot better as of late - the heat/humidity have only added to my fatigue. I know what it's like to feel bad, and not have any way of making any difference in the way you feel physically, or mentally. This only makes it more difficult to be motivated to do anything, as I'm tired all the time since my body decided to no longer digest most foods the way it should. I don't absorb nutrients very well. On the flip side, I'm almost done with one side project that will be done sometime tomorrow, and I'll be able to finish another for a member here who has waited for a long time for his stuff. I hope this will put me back in the modeling loop. Just hang in there buddy! ![]() ~ Cobra Chris
RE: Joe's Big "G" - bwayne64 - 08-13-2010 Thanks Guys, Thats why I love this site. It's not just the modeling, which is the absolute best. It's the good people here ! You guy's are all top notch. And I'm not just sayin that. Even when I don't feel good enough to build, I know I can come here and be inspired. They say when the Lord shuts a door, he opens a window. If one website goes in the crapper, another one comes along that's twice as good. Again thanks for the well wishes. And Chris I hope you feel better too man, I know how it sucks to be sick for a long time. Cheers to you all, Joe RE: Joe's Big "G" - bwayne64 - 11-17-2014 Hi Guy's , Sorry to be away so long. Can't seem to shake these health issues. Thought I'd pass along something I found. I've been looking for a replacement for the honeycomb material used in the engines. I found these flash diffusers on Evilbay. They have a 6mm cell, and when cut loose from their frames, have enough material for one engine. They are painted black, but I think a quick bath in paint remover should bring them back to a natural silver. Some of the hexagons are a little offset, but not so much that you'd notice once their in the engines. Can't beat the price, at 2 for less than 20 dollars, USA. There may be enough when cut to make the little center engine too. Haven't cut mine yet. Beats trying to find the original material, and pay what they want for it, These are made of a thicker material, and will be much stronger than the original stuff. I don't think the extra thickness will be noticeable. That will be up to the builder to decide. Hope these will work for ya's, Cheer,Joe Ebay Listing : http://www.ebay.com/itm/7-2mm-3mm-4mm-6mm-Aluminum-Honeycomb-Grid-for-Bowens-Standard-Reflector-Grid/181335712290?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D26942%26meid%3Dd606e1c349894fadb8b5de7ab5b93f0a%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D11184%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D10%26sd%3D181174983699 My Diffusers : [attachment=16942] Had to drill out these two rivets : [attachment=16943] Gives you this : [attachment=16944] And these parts : [attachment=16945] RE: Joe's Big "G" - JAWS - 11-20-2014 Seems to be some text missing?
