Yep !! it's that thing when you look at a sprue and thing-"surely not-oh f..k yes it is!! ",Might be same figure sprue in the f1,not got that one yet-the little c shaped bit is off the JPS too.

well, i just had to scratch the parts, no biggie, now i just posted on RI that the parts Steve has on the AQ isnt the right parts, the part holding the end of the drive shaft is the part from the same sprue of the jps that the triangular plate is from, the tab in the middle is removed.
Also the wheel at the rear is indeed the steering wheel from the tamiya 1/35 hanomag, if you look at a blow up of that part you will see a long pin attachement, the same as on the hanomg wheel.

TBH the pin did always worry me esp in side on screen grabs-not sure the centre tab is totally removed or trimmed down somewhat.
PS add the Tamiya Quad to your kit lists.......

Ive got the last bit son and have finally added the final coat of paint and now all is to be done is some weathering, not a whole lot but just enough to show that is a battered on run rag tag fleet ship.
I will post some pics when i get to the stage, right now the paint is still a bit wet and i want it to air out completely before i abuse it!

It has been a long 2-3 yrs in the making and through the hard work of everyone IDing parts and such the AQ is finished, i may take some additional pics in better lighting but that will have to wait!
Thank you everyone for your help and support in making this project happen!

Ah we Astral Queen builders hide our exhausts -stealth tech-like the way the hull looks like an old earth submarine-not like your Battlestars with huge exhausts you can see from miles away......

Thank you! Well, its going to be 2 projects, one is a prison barge like ship, and the other is an old project that may get revitalized.

Jerry, that is FANTASTIC. Pretty much what everyone said above echoes my thoughts!! From the paint, to weathering to assembly, an awesome build. Great job on this project, and congrats on getting over the finish line!!! A model to definitely be proud of!!

Thanks Sean and Phil! I noticed a few things that im going to change on it LOL! Its just minor and will enhance the overall shape of things.
The original didnt have any lettering on the starboard side, but i thought it would look better with it on so i made a template of the port side and then just transferred it to the other, pretty simple and easy.
Only after we got the top view did i notice that the paint goes all the way around from top to bottom, the gaps and lines match up from side to side, so i goofed up on that but i had already painted it buy that time hehe, NO! im not going to repaint this thing, ooo, it was a pain!

This is amazing work. I really like the way you layered colors in the weathering especially around the detailed engine areas and piping. How did you apply this through all the detail?

dis regard the last 2 posts, darn it! now i see them, i get real itchy when i cant see posts, sorry, i need my meds lol!
Doug, i just use a wash and a small brush, well actually several washes, burnt sienna an ebony black and powders suspended in turpanoid-dark earth and earth tones, and some rusty stuff, and just layer it little by little, hitting the recesses first then spread out and having the wash get weaker as i move out onto open areas.

A kit? hmm, okay sounds good to me lol, it would be an expensive one, and a tough one to cast, but i think Jase can do it! yeah, lets get him to do it!

Incredible job you did with the whole build it really does have that studio used look about it. An that sir is a credit to your work!
This craft never has done it for me but my views have changed a lot since following this build of yours. Don't know i'll ever get around to one myself but after seeing this build i'm at least thinking about it.

Only thing i think that needs doing now is adding it to the COMPLETED section where it belongs! Smile

Congrats again on such a fine build!!

Thanks Phil and all, I didnt take these pics for more praise, but its nice lol! Anyway, the previous pictures i took were in a rush, to just post them, plus, i think it was Phil, maybe Mike that asked to see it in natural light.
I did remove some other stuff and replaced them with the correct parts.
