Studio Scale Cylon Tanker - JAWS - 06-19-2011

Ok so heres the start of another long thread. Am going to build a Studio Scale Cylon Tanker. I have a great start with the head! Yep drool fellas! This was mastered by another modeler some time ago. I am very fortunate to get this Cool So I will answer that question that just popped into your heads(well some of you I know thats for sure). This will be getting encased in rubber Big Grin It needs monor work & is great because this is one dificult shape to construct. Stay tuned.

RE: Studio Scale Cylon Tanker - JAWS - 06-20-2011

Usual suspects.
So bare in mind thid is not perfect.
Its a great piece & over 6 years old.
It needs some work but is a great start.
So I will solid cast it with my old resin & then rework it for a more accurate finish. Doesn't need much so should be pretty easy.

RE: Studio Scale Cylon Tanker - dbhs - 06-21-2011

It's ok if it's not perfect....it's still a good starting point and much easier than starting from scratch. Other than acquiring all the old kits, sculpting that head would be the most difficult part of that build. Any chance you'll be offering a set of kit parts to go with that at some point. I'd be interested in getting a set of parts and scratching the rest of the frame myself.

That modeler would be me..........that head was given to brad some time ago when I built the first head section for my tanker which now is in clay brown's colllection you can see photos on kurt kuhn's site...... angelo, you can also see that head section sitting on the table in one of the photos, go to build artists and click on my name. scroll down to photos of my tanker it should be the 2nd or third pic.

That would be 100% correct Mr Disalvo. Im hoping you don't mind us using your master to make a couple of project starters. Its a great piece & with a little work can bring it just a little closert to the studio model. Im totally amazed how you constructed this piece. Totally not how I would have expected. If you don't aprove me submerging this in rubber it will not.
