Well folks , I finally got my armature built and welded up for my movers build . I went with dbh's armature concept ( Thanks Doug ) and I think it is going to work superbly !!! I will take a few pics and hopefully post them later on today !!

Sorry gents . Got side tracked with starting my salzo viper , some work on the pegasus , and two commission builds .I will get back on this . don't be dissappointed though it is just the armature for the movers so far , still waiting for the 2.5 inch abs pipe and the 1.25 inch abs pipe to arrive .

Looks great!

I thought the pipe armature looked really long but the whole ship when finished is even longer. I haven't gotten that far with mine yet but laid some of the pieces out to get a sense of it. It will be a great display piece.

RE: Darkimmitators SS Colonial Movers - JAWS - 03-29-2012

Yay!!!!!! Looking nice Kenny. Your on the way to a pretty big Galactics collection buddy.

Well aside from these pics here :

The rest of my colonial movers build was accomplished in ONE week, to make a hobby show in Shearwater Nova Scotia on the weekend . I finnished the model the day of contest ,with the paint still drying , during the hour and a half drive to the show. It still needs some fine weathering touches but the representation was there .

And yes, you keen eyed viewers will notice , that in my hurried attempt to finnish this build and make it in time for the show , I FORGOT to install the arado cockpit canopy !!!!HuhSad

Joking cause I caught you mid post

RE: Darkimmitators SS Colonial Movers - t2sides - 04-09-2013

Outstanding build up Kenny!!! So great to see another rag tag join the fleet!! You've done a great job on this, love the weathering, and the colors look FABULOUS!!

Congrats (ohh, and like Doug said... Yeah, and...?)

RE: Darkimmitators SS Colonial Movers - darkimmitator - 04-09-2013

Thanks for the kind words Sean . The Movers took third in sci fi , and my salzo viper took third in the Masters category .

RE: Darkimmitators SS Colonial Movers - t2sides - 04-10-2013

Awesome!! Congrats and well deserved!!!

RE: Darkimmitators SS Colonial Movers - dbhs - 04-10-2013

Great job Kenny!!!
Wow, a week. I bet that's faster than the original went together. Congrats on the awards too. It looks great and will be a nice addition to your collection.
How do you deal with moving it around? Are the containers removable?

RE: Darkimmitators SS Colonial Movers - darkimmitator - 04-10-2013

Thanks Doug ! They are spot glued with square tubing for now . Like I said earlier ,this was rushed to make a show . Plans are to remove the trailers and build some sort of magnet system like you did with yours . I am still trying to figure out the right highth that the trailers are supposed to sit above the tubing ?

RE: Darkimmitators SS Colonial Movers - JAWS - 04-10-2013

WOW Kenny!!!
That looks sensational!
Where did you get all the other parts from?
Are they all kit parts?
Man that looks great.
Jelous........

RE: Darkimmitators SS Colonial Movers - darkimmitator - 04-10-2013

Thank you Jase . All kit parts except for one casted ammo box from the 88mm flak . The front hummel piece on the command module is scratched substitute as well as the piece in back of all the rail gun pieces . The mounting cap s are temp substitutes as well ,until I get the proper ones . They are held in place with modeling clay stuffed into the hex nuts that are welded on the armature.

RE: Darkimmitators SS Colonial Movers - JAWS - 04-11-2013

I have heaps of spares of the centre caps if you need them.
Can also do you the Hummel pieces if you want to replace those.
I will send you an email today as I have that stuff you have waited so long for.
So we can move forward on that project you were going to do.
