Yes finally a Gerry Anderson builder attacks the site.
Very kool Lee.

RE: Thunderbirds Helijet - Wombat - 07-16-2012

Man ya almost had us...Shouldn't you be returning that to the prop department?

That does look incredibly sharp probably better than the original was infact.

Don't think any of us that grew up with Thunderbirds will ever be tired of that show. Even now it's still on tellie real early on the weekends down here and i'll still watch it even now for those incredible miniatures that they made.

This pieces is no different really nice job with this, Lee!

RE: Thunderbirds Helijet - jollyllp - 06-26-2013

The Helijet was used in four episodes of Thunderbirds. “City of fire” (green), “End of the road” (red), “Pit of peril” (yellow) and “Desperate intruder” (red and white). Like some of the other vehicles in Thunderbirds, this was made by combining plastic model kits in unusual ways to make new designs.
It is most likely that there was only one model made and repainted for each episode. But, if you look at the two screen grabs from the episode “City of Fire”, you can see quite a few differences in the model between the two shots. Were there two different models, and if not, why was it changed. One explanation could be that it was repainted for another episode, and then had to be painted green again to film an extra shot for this one......

Yeh the two versions of the Green Helijet always confused me :-)

RE: Thunderbirds Helijet - LastBattlestar - 08-16-2013

Wow! Awesome build Lee, it really captures the weathering style from the show perfectly. What's cool subject, very unique. Your photographic presentation is first class, as always.

Phil, I have the entire DVD set here, you can borrow them and have a Thunderbirds marathon. I'll bring the popcorn too.

Mike

RE: Thunderbirds Helijet - LeeS - 08-17-2013

Yes that was mine, thanks! :-)
Made the long trip from Thailand with me. The two side wings snapped off on the way back but nothing too bad.
