Antique Viper - t2sides - 07-31-2012

Hey Gang,
Well, here's my first project post from my latest quick effort. This is the Salzo kit. It was one of those fun, rather quick builds to put together. Sometimes it's fun to break off from the longer, bigger projects and enjoy something like this. I love the design, and with the recent postings of some other builds of this, I decided to hit it about 2 weeks ago, and just finished up the weathering. It's always fun to throw on the grime and dirt, and this particular ship really deserved it! So, here's a few shots of it, with the last 2 being the studio model.

PS - Threw in a fun little shot of the BigG with the Movie Poster.

Thanks!
-Sean

Thats the nicest build of that model so far.
Thanks Sean.

That looks hella cool Sean!Smile Man, 2 weeks, it would take me that long to glue on one wing!

Love the Galactica pic too. I think it costs nearly $14,000,000 to build your own replica these days! Always good to see her again, like an old friend. So, when are you coming over to see the Aussie Battlestars again? You wouldn't recognise mine and Phil's, well, that's in another league!

Mike

Nice job with this one, Sean! It's not a subject that has ever really done it for myself but your build looks really good. I think you must have the best SS Galactica colectiuon out there when it comes to replicas. Must be quiet a display seeing them all in the one room together.
The paint and weathering look great on this and a dirty bird is always fun to do for sure.

Thanks for posting it!

First class work as always Sean . Didn't realize there was as so many colored panels on this bird !!!

RE: Antique Viper - steve36uk - 08-02-2012

Lovely job!! -but the Big G in front of the poster is the icing on the cake!!

RE: Antique Viper - LeeS - 08-07-2012

Superb work (of course :-) )
Not sure I'll ever have the time to add this one to my collection, maybe I'll print out a photo of yours and have a Antique-Viper-on-a-stick™!!!

RE: Antique Viper - t2sides - 08-08-2012

Seriously appreciate the sentiments guys!! Thanks for the kind words!!

Lee, I'm humbled and laughing!

Mike/Phil - I will make it back out there some day for sure!! And yeah, that'd be awesome to see the land of Oz Battlestars! And yes, the league would be above mine as you guys are kicking it up a whole new level!

RE: Antique Viper - Wombat - 08-08-2012

Perhaps that may be the case we'll see but at this stage only one of us three can say i have a completed SS Battlestar. The other couple of us have years to go, maybe decades even although soon there will be nothing left for Mike to rework and he'll just have to finish his.
Hope you do get back down here again. Make it in summer and we can have a pool party at Mikes new pad.

Mike, pool party at your house when Sean comes down again!

"The other couple of us have years to go, maybe decades even although soon there will be nothing left for Mike to rework and he'll just have to finish his."
GOLD!!!

Sean the more I look at this piece the more your paintwork stands out.
Really great job on this model.
Now start posting the rest you teaze.

"...there will be nothing left for Mike to rework and he'll just have to finish his."

THAT was GOLD wasn't it!! haha!!

Thanks Jase, I hear ya! I'd hate to post 'old' pics of the SS BSG ships, but finding time and a plain backdrop to take new shots of the ships is a pain. But, I feel the nudge and I'll see what I can do to start a few posts.

Phil/Mike - Well if there's a Pool Party, I'm in!! Smile

-Sean

RE: Antique Viper - LastBattlestar - 08-10-2012

Bastards, just because I've probably built nearly three Battlestars doesn't mean you can make fun of me! When you break it down, its probably one complete ship every four years. Beat THAT!Smile

Yeah, pool party on me. Id love to sit out near the bikini girls in the pool drinking bourbon in the sun with you guys!

Mike

RE: Antique Viper - JAWS - 08-10-2012

I would get a flight for that.

We love you Mike.

RE: Antique Viper - LeeS - 08-22-2012

LOL !

We love ya, Mike.
It's a lot more fun for us seeing it re-worked than seeing it finished !!

RE: Antique Viper - JAWS - 08-23-2012

Yeah the problem is wee need more pictures of his reworks to help us with our various projects.
Seans work is something we all can learn from also & is another on of those early builders in this community to tackle these buggers.
The reference these guys had when building these replicas over 10 years ago was far from what is available now.
To have blokes like Sean & Mike sharing their work is generous & to rework a build after so much work & time put into it is truly admirrable.
Thanks.
