Big Viper gear ooooops - t2sides - 08-07-2012 This is what happens when you don't pay attention to details... You get a completed modification that won't work... (posted on RPF also) So, Spent the weekend scratch building a landing gear for another TOS 1/12 (HUGE) Viper. I had been playing with the scale and printing them out. Accidently grabbed the smaller prints (about 80% to scale), and merrily built all three gear. Then, before painting, I put them up to the other built big Viper to check scale, and.... OOOOOPS, I saw it was wayyyyy too small!! So, I guess these will just go on the side as a set of gear with no Viper, and I'm restarting the build process to the correct scale..... The good news is, I learned a lot building them, so I have some new ideas that will make this second round look better (Including real rubber wheels, which are some nice grommets that fit the bill nicely!) Back to the bench... -Sean RE: Big Viper gear ooooops - DarthDuck - 08-07-2012 They look great though! If that's any consolation.
RE: Big Viper gear ooooops - LeeS - 08-07-2012 Well that sucks! I have to say it's kinda scary seeing the SS Viper looking like a small toy sitting on the 1/12 monster RE: Big Viper gear ooooops - Wombat - 08-07-2012 They look that bloody good! Hell i think you should just scratch up the rest now to work with that scale gear. ![]() Damn, that really was some nice work, Sean! Thanks for showing us you are actually human afterall and look forward to seeing V2.0 even more after seeing those. RE: Big Viper gear ooooops - darkimmitator - 08-07-2012 regardless of the scale , excellent job on the build !!! RE: Big Viper gear ooooops - Apophis - 08-08-2012 hell yeah exellent job on them! RE: Big Viper gear ooooops - t2sides - 08-08-2012 Thanks guys, I appreciate the support! Well Phil, I don't think that's gonna happen, but I was thinking of making a base, painting and gluing down the gear, and calling it "Wonder Woman's Viper"..... RE: Big Viper gear ooooops - Wombat - 08-08-2012 LOL, that works for me! Anyone got a 1/15 wonder woman doll they can send Sean? RE: Big Viper gear ooooops - LeeS - 08-08-2012 Anyone got a 1/1 they want to send to me :-D RE: Big Viper gear ooooops - DarthDuck - 08-09-2012 So Superman is flyin around and looks down upon a grassy field. He spots Wonder Woman nude with her legs spread, writhing in ectasy. He swoops down and in a nano-second bangs the hell out of her and flies off, satisfied. Meanwhile WonderWoman screams, "OMG, Invisible Man, are you okay?". Invisible Man who had passed out while still between her legs is barely able to mutter,"My ass will never be the same again!"
RE: Big Viper gear ooooops - JAWS - 08-09-2012 Hey I built Wonder Womens jet. You can't see it & Im probably lying(cause haven't finished a model yet.....) But I like the concept as long as Wonder Womens in it. One of my first loves... Got your attention any ways. Nice work Sean. RE: Big Viper gear ooooops - LastBattlestar - 08-10-2012 Grear job with the gear Sean, Id hate to see them wasted. Maybe scratch an original design to use them on? I reckon a TOS Blackbird would look cool! You could put a little 'Cassiopeia' name on the side.... Mike |
