Studio Scale V shuttle and Fighter (original series) - ColinSMT - 10-23-2013

Hey everyone.

Thought I would post a set of photos of a finished V shuttle kit that I made last year as kit at SMT. The head and tail are molded directly from the large studio miniature while at the SMT shop and the body is based on the same model. I studied and measured the model while in the shop but chose not use the body as it was distorted typical of most studio miniatures. I have included rare shot of the underside which good reference for has never been widely available. I base my gear on the full size version as the rarely seen studio fighter model had only two small round gear at the back.

Enjoy!

Nice clean work, good job!

Was you doing some restoration on the original miniature?

I LOVE THE PICS!!!!!!!!!

I downloaded and will be drooling over them for some time now.Big Grin
The basic Skyfighter front/back is just such a perfect design (to me anyways). That is sooooo cool you got to see, work from the original. Your updated landing gear are perfect.

Thank you for sharing the pics.

Thanks fellas.

I did more of a cleaning than a restoration on the original, but as I had always thought it was a great design, after a brief discussion with the owner at that time, I decided to make a kit.

The gear look good, when I did the Skyfighter I did do a version with the small round gear (the come down just beside the large box on the bottom) but it just did not look right!

Check out the pics of the original filming in the reference area too.
