44" Eagle 1 from Season 1 build by MADsen - MADsen - 03-10-2014 MADsen have started on the first of his 5x 44" Eagles Replica builds... Finally... I have started with " Housekeeping" (removing flash and other no essencial matrials) from the parts. All of the trimming and cleanup is done with handtools since I doen´t have any powertools (Proxxon, which I did have once, have been stolen from me and I haven´t had the finacial oppertunity to buy some new ones yet..) so the work will be slow.. My 44 Inch Eagle CM is the very nice craftmanship from CT... which I have started on marking up and getting it ready for trimming and fitting. I´ll continue to update my progress as it comes along... RE: 44" Eagle 1 from Season 1 build by MADsen - Richard_2001 - 03-10-2014 MADsen, That is a nice start! You have produced a nice join that will require very little putty, I would be very happy with it if it were my model. Nothing wrong with hand tools, I use them for about 75% of the work I do on models. They allow you to feel connected to the work and there is less chance of sanding too far or cutting fast enough to heat and warp the parts ![]() Richard RE: 44" Eagle 1 from Season 1 build by MADsen - JAWS - 03-10-2014 AWSOMENESS!!! I plan to build at least one of these in the future(crowd laughs.....) So will be watching this thread very closely. Can you tell us about the kit please, who makes it etc? Great start & is very refreshing to have some Gerry Anderson projects on the board. RE: 44" Eagle 1 from Season 1 build by MADsen - Wombat - 03-11-2014 One of those subjects that actually looks believable for current technology. Nice job with the fit of that beak. RE: 44" Eagle 1 from Season 1 build by MADsen - LastBattlestar - 03-11-2014 Hi Madsen and welcome to SSM. I've seen you over at eagletransporter, as I drop in from time to time dreaming about an Eagle build. ![]() Rogue Studio are now doing an incredible Eagle kit Jase. Don't think it's 100% complate as you'll always have to fabricate something yourself with big projects like that. But it looks amazing and the prices are good from what I've seen. I'll keep dreaming! Keep posting your progress Madsen! Mike |
