Timeslip ESB SS Cloud Car - shadowknight - 06-13-2014 I’ve been working on this on and off while waiting for coats of paint, Apoxie Sculpt, and putty to dry Enlarged the gunport ![]() Attached the PODs with Apoxie Sculpt, wood, and screws. I ran a red marker down the middle scribe line and used a level to help me line them up. ![]() My original plan was to cut off the dashboard section of the cockpit, mold it, and run it in clear so I could light it. After doing all that (with permission), I realized that I didn’t exactly like the way that it was going to turn out, so I went ahead and scratched new dashboards. Depending on how the final fit of the pilots go, this may have been a waste of time. They pre-fit okay, but we shall see. ![]() ![]() ![]() Then I had to dig a small trench for the wires to go through. ![]() This pretty much where she sits right now. RE: Timeslip ESB SS Cloud Car - shadowknight - 06-13-2014 I still have a bit more to clean up on the body of this, but it seems to be moving along. ![]()
RE: Timeslip ESB SS Cloud Car - dbhs - 06-14-2014 Looking good. For some reason I've never been a big fan of this ship but I like seeing the in progress builds of it. It seems like it has a lot of challenges with the split hulls and center support. RE: Timeslip ESB SS Cloud Car - 3phase - 06-14-2014 I've always wanted one of these but when I think I'm ready to get one something else pops up. Hopefully one day I will get one from timeslip RE: Timeslip ESB SS Cloud Car - JAWS - 06-14-2014 Sweet. I'm going get me one of these something. Love the pilots in this kit. RE: Timeslip ESB SS Cloud Car - shadowknight - 06-14-2014 I'm really enjoying the kit. One thing sucks though. I let somebody take the parts out to have a look at them and he haphazardly put them back. It looks like he put heavy parts on top of one of the canopies, and now it needs to be heated up and bent back into shape.
RE: Timeslip ESB SS Cloud Car - Troy Downen - 06-21-2014 I have been tempted to pick one of these up from Timeslip, but I was led to believe that it was significantly incorrect in overall shape (I seem to recall reading posts on the issue over on RPF). Any comments from your point of view? RE: Timeslip ESB SS Cloud Car - JAWS - 06-21-2014 It has been said it is a little 'fat'. Other than that its pretty damn good. RE: Timeslip ESB SS Cloud Car - Troy Downen - 06-22-2014 Good to know. It certainly would make for an interesting display piece. Not too many orange Star Wars models! I always liked the pilots' helmets too. I dunno why... RE: Timeslip ESB SS Cloud Car - shadowknight - 06-22-2014 Looking at the reference pictures, I would have to agree. The kit does seem to have put a little weight on in the POD area. It's still a great kit though and George just announced in my thread over at the RPF that he is re-releasing it very soon. RE: Timeslip ESB SS Cloud Car - JAWS - 06-26-2014 Yeah its a great kit. The pilots in this kit are kool as. |
