It’s great to be here. Thanks Jase.
I love building. It can be an art form. It can be practical. And it can be frustrating, too. But it is always fun. I’ve built wooden, plastic, fiberglass, and resin kits. These kits were r/c planes and boats or movie vehicles and monsters.
A few years ago I discovered studio scale models and was fascinated at how they were constructed by kit bashing. I was also amazed by the research done by modelers to recreate exact replicas. I’m a fan of the designs in movies like,”2001: A Space Odyssey” or “Silent Running” or from television shows, like “Star Trek” or “UFO”; however, I just have to go with my childhood favorite “Star Wars,” because of the amazing diversity of designs by Ralph McQuarrie. There are the beat-up and abused fighters, like the X-wings and Y-wings. The strange and awkward, like the AT-AT. And the graceful, like the Imperial shuttle, with its gull wings reminiscent of a WW2 Corsair. Of course, these are only a few of the wonderful designs.
At the moment I’m working on a studio scale resin kit of a “Star Wars” ship, but in the future I would like to create a studio scale model with the actual kit bashed parts. And this site looks like the place to do it. I look forward to reading through the different studio scale builds and learning from everyone here and also contributing too.

It's a great site. I’ve already begun to read through some very impressive builds and I love the way the studio scale references are organized in a clear logical manner.
