Studio scale Snowspeeder starter kit - Telepathic - 10-30-2014 Hi guys, I am not offering anything for sale but just wanted to get some opinions on an idea I had. I have been thinking about offering a very limited number of sets of speeder parts, not complete kits but a starter set of sorts. I was thinking of just offering the engine and cannon parts. Just throwing it out there and what would you like to specifically see in a starter kit. As I said if this happens I'll probably only offer 5 to 10 sets of these so it will be extremely limited. I made a thread similar to this at the RPF and the moderators deleted it telling me that it violated forum rules because I was selling something which as you can see is untrue, this is all very hypothetical, I am not selling or committing to selling anything. Anyway, I think someone with a vested interest on not seeing a kit such as this offered, complained about my thread to the mods. Regardless I am done with that board, that place has gone downhill fast. Sorry for the rant but I'm extremely disappointed. Anyway have a look at these pics and let me know your opinions. Helio RE: Studio scale Snowspeeder starter kit - dsp5500 - 10-30-2014 Put me down for a set. Rob RE: Studio scale Snowspeeder starter kit - MonsieurTox - 10-30-2014 Hey Helio, like I said in your RPF thread, I'd be interested ! But would you consider offering more cast greeblies ? Inside of the speed brake boxes, cockpit, engine etc ? Bests, J RE: Studio scale Snowspeeder starter kit - Ralphee - 10-30-2014 Haha, hear you on the RPF, it sure isn't the RPF anymore, more a rubber cosplay and toy board, hey ho, but, sure id be interested in a set of bits and bobs. lee RE: Studio scale Snowspeeder starter kit - Guy Cowen - 11-02-2014 I can't believe they deleted your thread, no actually I can believe it!!!!! Cant you start an interest thread in the junkyard or is that against the rules now??? Still interested no matter what :-) RE: Studio scale Snowspeeder starter kit - gluejunky - 11-02-2014 I agree with you ralphee, the rpf is not what it used to be 12 years ago when I joined, it wasn't that long ago if some one posted a thread on " my little pony" they would have been laughed out. seriously my little pony ...WTF! I am very interested in what ever you put together RE: Studio scale Snowspeeder starter kit - Telepathic - 11-03-2014 Hey guys, thanks for the support, like I said, I have no idea what is going on at the RPF but it was the first time this has happened to one of my threads. The icing on the cake was that I PM'ed the mod who deleted the thread to defend myself and he ignores the message and doesn't respond. Again I see nothing wrong with the post as I am not selling anything or even proposing to sell anything specific, just wanted to get some conversation going on about the possibility. Julien I am not really sure what will be available, I don't really want to turn this into a business. As I said if anything is available it will be very limited. I also don't want to go to far out of my way to cast specific parts for a kit per se. In other words if I build a master out of necessity for my build and make a mold, castings from that mold may be available. Having said that, there are quite a few castings in the brake boxes and cockpit so there are molds made for those areas. Again if anything becomes available you guys here will be the first to know. Helio RE: Studio scale Snowspeeder starter kit - Guy Cowen - 11-03-2014 Cheers Helio, all sounds good. its shocking re whats going on over there, did you spot the thread about the Y wings on ebay, with like to modelermagic and its all about things that are for sale by a 3rd party, not even a discussion!!!!! if that stays up then its a mockery!!! RE: Studio scale Snowspeeder starter kit - Telepathic - 11-03-2014 How's it going Guy, I did notice that thread and there have been other threads like it, you're right it is a mockery, I still say that someone reported my thread to the mods. I've thought for a long while that the RPF no longer caters to the studio scale guys and have noticed that quite a few guys who were there from the start no longer post there. BTW your work on the Slave is incredible, sorry to post it here but just had to get that in. Helio RE: Studio scale Snowspeeder starter kit - Ralphee - 11-03-2014 Helio, buddy i have it on record that the owner of the board despises the Studio scale guys anyway, thats in print too, but it never stopped him asking the same guys with Eagle eyes for part ID's, its sad he feels that way, but there you go, its better over here, quieter, and dedicated to our little niche. Do love your Rogue mate, looks amazing, so cleanly built, its been so worth your time IDing and perfecting her! bests.....lee RE: Studio scale Snowspeeder starter kit - Telepathic - 11-03-2014 Hey Lee, that doesn't surprise me at all, you were right all along, it seems that they cater to the cosplay crowd judging by all the sub forums specifically created for the costumers. I've also said this board is much better for us especially when looking at the resources available on it, from kit scans to research sub forums and has a pleasant communal vibe. Thanks again for the compliments on my speeder, can't wait to show you my Rogue 2. I am building a Rogue 2 to the same standards I've set for my Leader, I think having both speeders will be a nice display piece. Besides Rogue 2 is more prominent in the film as all of the shots with an orange speeder in it are of this model and just comped in the shots over and over again. Helio RE: Studio scale Snowspeeder starter kit - Guy Cowen - 11-03-2014 Cheers Helio, its become a mission for me now lol, I've been living and breathing it for months so hopefully all the hard work will pay off. With what I have planned it should be an awesome replica, as long as I don't screw it up when building it should fall together with ease (no pun intended), yeh right !!!! like it will just fall together :-) I can tell you this, once its done I won't know what to do with myself ....build another ? |
