Such precise work. Thank you for sharing the photos. RE: Millennium Falcon Studio Scale - JAWS - 12-04-2014 Looking good mate. What's that bottom picture from? RE: Millennium Falcon Studio Scale - Stefan Hacker - 12-04-2014 Thanks everyone! @Jase: I scanned the back of the Millennium Falcon 3-D Owner Guide book. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Millennium_Falcon:_A_3-D_Owner%27s_Guide and scaled it up to compare it with the Maruska-Plan. It´s pretty close just the 4 holes in the mandibles are a little bit differnent. If someone want´s the PDF just let me know but the quality isn´t professionall. I just did it to get a feeling if the greeblies have the right size and the really fit pretty well if not spot on. RE: Millennium Falcon Studio Scale - Cylon-Knight - 12-05-2014 Not to hijack Stefan's wonderful build, just a little diversion for you Falcon fans where it will be seen. My wife found some Lego Ornament ideas... and among them "What a piece of junk." lol I thought some of you might like to make one with Legos you might have for your tree. (There is also Slave-1 and the Death Star if you are more Imperial Minded.) Picture: ![]() PDF of how to: http://www.powerpig.ca/lego_ornament_guides_2013/millennium_falcon_2013.pdf Site of all the ornaments (MANY more than Star Wars) http://www.chrismcveigh.com/cm/building_guides_-_holiday.html Not QUITE studio scale, but I suggest you let the Wookie win. <eye roll> RE: Millennium Falcon Studio Scale - dbhs - 12-09-2014 Very cool. RE: Millennium Falcon Studio Scale - JAWS - 03-10-2015 Very kool! RE: Millennium Falcon Studio Scale - kbilly - 03-11-2015 Great start. Always enjoy seeing a falcon come together. RE: Millennium Falcon Studio Scale - Stefan Hacker - 03-11-2015 Thanks! Hey are you also thinking my sidewalls are wrong on the disc? I guess they have to be more in the center. It´s very confusing with those armor plates. But i guess i need more space for greeblies on the sides. RE: Millennium Falcon Studio Scale - Stefan Hacker - 03-13-2015 Here we go. Damn! I made a big mistake on the sidewalls. I guess the Maruska Plan was wrong on this point. The Sidewalls have to be higher to let the kit parts fit inside the trench. I had to remove a bit of the disc so the sidewalls are now more towards the center. Now i have to fill the gaps but i guess i can fix that without any problems. I was so much fun playing with kit parts. This is a magical momentan when something melts together and changes to a part of the Falcon. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
RE: Millennium Falcon Studio Scale - Stefan Hacker - 03-13-2015 BTW I also found out that the angle of the Cockpittube leads about 1 cm more in front of the centerpoint. Thats also wrong on the MR Falcon based Plan
RE: Millennium Falcon Studio Scale - Scott Graham - 03-14-2015 I've been looking at many pics of the falcon lately, since I've got a semi-complete one to revise and finish. I've noticed that issue too. What I think it is is that the centerline of the tunnel moves forward towards the center. It seems to move off-center as it goes towards the gun turret. It makes that elliptical, angled edge not a correct ellipse also. The elliptical/angled area didn't look right to me, so I had been trying to figure out what the problem is. I don't think it's the angle of the cockpit tube that's off, but the center greeblie area on the top. At least that's what I came up with. What do you think? RE: Millennium Falcon Studio Scale - dbhs - 03-14-2015 Holy crap that's a lot of lights. Is the middle row of smaller lights also LEDs or fiber optic? Will they be covered with a screen or light diffuser? I've noticed that issue too. I did another Coreldraw illustration and it seems to me that the centerline with the greeblies is right. Very confusing but i guess the right green line is the best point to get the right angle of the tube. The other ones more to the center would be wrong cause they are turned inwards because of the shape if the hull. Notice the red lines on the Cockpittunnel are perfect parallel. I´m not sure about the cover but maybe a grill of maybe a grill with thin foil or somethiing like that. RE: Millennium Falcon Studio Scale - JAWS - 03-27-2015 Really kool Stefan. |
