An unseen R2 unit ? - Mr. Wabac - 03-05-2015
Someone recently posted on YouTube footage cut from Star Wars (notice I didn't say Episode 4 ?)
There is a scene at the end of the collection of Dart Vader walking through the corridors of the Death Star.
Ahead of him in the corridor - passing from Left to Right - is an R2 unit.
What caught my eye is that the dome on the unit is clear.
Hadn't seen one like that before.

It is known as "R3-M3" but also "R3-O1".
It can also be seen in a scene behind Obi-Wan.
It's blue with white panels.
The clear domes used in ANH (or Star Wars
) don't have any painted panels unlike the ones in the following movies.
