To quote an RPF member
"moztech -
I've ordered 2 bagged kits, yes international shipping is expensive, but it's still a lot cheaper that buying an original."

Cripes, guess I need to buy 14,000 bagged kits, LOL. Hope we hit the goal. I definitely was not going to pay 3 to 6 hundred for this kit. Can't beat it at 49 bucks.

Let me offer you a small incentive to make the purchase easier...
You buy the 14000 kits needed and I'll send you as a trade for 5 of them a D51 kit (pink box...after it's laser scanned for 3d printing*).
Plus you would win every time someone post one of those "Let's see your stash" threads!

The reality of this is that at this time their is no way I could justify spending the money for a single Sealab kit on ebay, it's hard enough trying to wrap my head around buying the laser scanner.
But  3 of these bagged kits should be all I ever need (unless I start modeling Star Wars ships) and the $150 is a lot easier to  do at the moment.

*If the laser scanner works out then the next purchase is a Formlab 3d printer

Yes I saw that and liked it. In my case tho I don't really need the kit. The only scratch build I am doing is the ESB AT-ST and I have all the parts for it and doubt I will do a scratch build of anything else.
I just wanted a kit mainly to help the numbers. Might still order one but something weird with the postage cost when I can get very large boxes with heavy kits from the US for the same postage cost.

LOL, yea it would definitely win the show your stash contest. Luckily I already got a vintage D51 quite a while back. Got it for about the same price as a bagged Sealab too. I love the 3d scanner stuff. Would love to have one of those. I've got plans for building a 3d router table. I'm hoping that I can use a portion of the table with a 3d printer head. The table should have the required resolution. I just have to figure out how to adapt the software to do both. I hate unitaskers, as much Alton Brown. Anyhoo hope we get the kits we need, Cheers, Joe

Not a good sign I'm afraid.
Word is they are pulling the plug on this attempt, and have returned the original model to it's owner.

9/23/2015
Folks who preordered are getting emails telling them the Sealab is not going to be done due to lack of interest.
The Sealab order page is gone, and the last count was from Sept.1.

Have to wonder if it would have been different if they let the hobby stores know about it and had store order info as well.
