Pyro/Icons Tie Fighter. - Ralphee - 04-22-2017
Hey all.
I acquired this model in trade recently. It was partial built, but i still had a fair bit of work to do to make it to my liking. Its an Icons hull casting, with hero style wing stars and Koolshade.
Many parts were removed and replaced to make it all a bit sharper, the hull underwent a lot of work to make good, and while its nowhere near as polished as a Tox TIE (the pinnacle of replicas IMO), its come up not too shabby.
Still needs some work to finish in the way of a bit more paint app, and decals, but for my first studio TIE, its a good step and allows me to continue my ANH Pyro Trilogy in the way of Red 3 and Gold 5 to flank it.
Anyhoo, a few pics of the progress as i was starting to play with the camera today as i want to shoot these three in a good light.
Paint is the usual Tamiya TS32, and Floquil Reefer grey, with Floquil weathered black used on the cockpit and canopy frame.

Cheers bud. Soon be able to fully finish it, just wanted to do a photo test. The lighting was my trusty RC pit lamp lol, all i had to hand as, I possess no photography witchcraft at all....at present......and I thought this may be a cheap year

I'll dig some up Stefan, thank you for the kind words, just waiting on a few bits to finish her up, and still needs a few minor paint tweaks.

Looks good Ralfee. I have a question. ICONS Pyro? I was to the understanding the ICONS TIE was scratch built by ICONS. Though they did have a TIE Wing Star they used. That I can varyify as I have an ICONS TIE Wing casting that I bought off the infamous 'he who shant be named'. Along with a Tie Hull casting & the rest. So to hear that the ICONS TIEs may be from Pyro lineage is kool news. Anywhere I can follow that up?

He whom cannot be named eh lol, lot of that going around.
It's not perfect bud, but has turned around into a pretty replica, and will fit nicely into my Pyro trio
