Thanks everyone. Although Dave's 3D files had some shortfalls, even a guy like me with little to no experience creating or editing such files, I was able to adjust them to fit for the most part. If not for him I never would've been able to accomplish this model.

Thanks DaveG!

Cheers

So I added some paint, I can't replicate the work ILM did.  I am however happy so far.

That is a great start. Nothing wrong here, remember to tone it all down with mist coats, but your on the right path Smile

OK, now I'm at my computer......fantastic work so far, KUDOS to you. Id maybe hit her with some warm light greys, just mist passes, really, nothing heavy, as it looks very nice.
Maybe hit some darker grey right in the deep wells of the detail, along the Harrow assembly etc, the prop is plastered with stark blacks that look horrible, these were added post production IMO.
Over these mist patterns, just lightly mist back over with your base, or, just a slightly warmer mix of your base, nice mists over the nacelles and canopy would also add a lovely aged/prop look, let it flow lightly over your yellows too, just go light till you get a feel for it, as i said, she already is looking very, very nice.

Bests.....Lee

Thank you very much,it means a lot coming from you, your paint work and detailing on your Y and Red 3 are nothing short of awesome.  I'll take your advice and do the misting.

Cheers

Ron, anything you need to ask fire away buddy, this is a wonderful bird so going the extra mile and trying a new trick or two may please you Smile
Really looking forward to the next batch of progress.
Just go light at first to make sure you like how it's going, just don't use any stark blacks, they will pull it down......in fact, just forget pure stark blacks exists for now Wink

Best's. .....Lee

I thought that too, but they're not quite right. The closest I've come to is a P-40 from a few producers, but they're always a little off.

Cheers!
