Dispatch Pods 223 & 232 - RU41 - 01-20-2019

I'd like to share my take on the Probe Droids Dispatch Pods. They are my first two studio scale builds and actually the first models I've done since the late 90s :-)
Both models are pretty well documented on the net. The Japanese Chronicles book was a great help as well! Examining the pictures in this book I found a detail I haven't seen so far in other 223 pod builds. I could't get hold of a picture showing the front end of the 223 pod. I did't want to put the T-34 rim at the front end 'cause the pods do not share parts (except a Plastruct lamp shade) and I cannot imagine that ILM had done that. I'd highly appreciate if anybody could share some ref showing the front end so I can update mine. I included a LED and a reflector in the engine nozzle and tried to keep the weathering to the minimum.

Nice job!

The only pics that exist of the front show it open to the inside showing the mounting point and wiring. ILM may have made a front cap but if so it was lost long ago. Btw, there are concept sketches in the Makkng of Enpire book that show a sketch of the 223 pod but with the T-34 rim on the front. On the other hand there’s also a sketch where the body was turned front to back so who knows!

Gentlemen
Than you for your replies.
Marvin, the picture showing the open front is in the chronicles book as well. I might paint and weather a T34 wheel and attach it with a magnet so I can modify the look of the pod.
Is it known who created the pods? I couldn’t find any signatures on the models or any under construction pictures either.

I have seen Pat McClung credited for building the pods. But these credits are sometimes sketchy. I also havent seen under constructions pics. These were quick builds and were probably badly documented.
