My 1/72 Bandai Perfect Grade Millennium Falcon build. - Mark Myers - 01-20-2021 Here is my Bandai Perfect Grade Millennium Falcon build. I have loved this ship and this version(three landing legs) since I saw Star Wars back in that magically summer of 1977! As this is a Bandai Kit, the fit and assembly of the kit are second to none...In my experience it's simply the best mass produced Model of a model ever made. The real fun is the painting. I painstakingly strived to match the 5' Filming miniature as she appeared in the first break through film. I have attached photos comparing my model with the original. I elected to disregard the kit supplied Cockpit interior and use parts from shape ways plus scratch building to match the five footer. I had a lot of fun with this and I hope my passion for the ship comes through in these Photos! High Regards, Mark ![]() ![]()
RE: My 1/72 Bandai Perfect Grade Millennium Falcon build. - Mr. Wabac - 01-20-2021 She looks fabulous. The side-by-side really shows how good the detail for the Bandai kit is - especially given it is a fraction the size of the actual miniature. If you could post some details on how you did the weathering I'm sure it would be appreciated by many on the site. The rust and grime streaks seem like they would be a real pain to get right - and what do you do to correct when it doesn't work out the first time ? Thanks for posting ! The rust and grime streaks were applied AFTER the base coat was satisfactory...and sealed with several coats of clear flat, That way I could easily remove any mistakes with a Q TIP and some windex! Because I wanted every streak to match up with the filming model(I am crazy that way!), It was a painstaking task to say the least! The grime and Rust was applied using numerous methods to yield the results I wanted...Paper Towel, Tissue Paper, Pencils, Air Brush, Q-Tip, My finger and my old T shirt! High Regards, Mark RE: My 1/72 Bandai Perfect Grade Millennium Falcon build. - darthjord - 03-01-2021 Wow, amazing work. Great kit by Bandai, I guess I would need to get one too. Of course, your modelling skills make the already great kit even greater and elevate it to another level.
