B'omarr Monk Spider druid Maquette. - Ralphee - 02-25-2024

Spent a couple of years on and off trying to fully ID this one.
It's the Spider Droid maquette model made by Joe Johnston as seen in the original Chronicles book.
Managed to get a full ID on the model, save for the actual brain matter so we were able to create a VERY faithful replica.
I made a prototype some months back, as we are still learning the best methods for assembly on this very fragile model, this is my own personal build, which still needs very minor adjustment going forward, but very happy how they are turning out.

Regards.....Lee

Wow. Amazing work. That looks great and a very unusual model. Is the glass a light bulb?

It is indeed glass mate, so fun to create this part.

It look very menacing. Awesome work Lee!

I had never realised that a maquette of this thing existed.

Originally it was featured in the first SW Chronicles, just a few Polaroids remain these days.
We're not even sure any other pictures were taken of it.
The maquette was built by Joe Johnston from primarily kit parts and found items.
I stuck to my guns determined to make an accurate ID of the model which paid off eventually.
As far as we know, the model vanished after being in the UK for a time.
