Moebius Jupiter 2 - Damien9479 - 03-03-2010

I am building this as a commission for a guy I met in my local hobby shop who is a HUGE Irwin Allen fan
This is my 6th build for him so far!...he definitely keeps me busy with challenging projects that I would never build for myself.
I am more of a automotive builder along with my long time passion for Formula 1 models
So anyway this big beast is going to be fully lit (YIKES!! Tongue)
I am using a generic light kit for all the interior lighting along with powering the fiber optics
I am also using Space Circuits excellent Fusion core circuit which works flawlessly and Paragraphix kick ass photo-etch set along with the paint masks
This will be probably be a long journey full of colorful language, head aches and all the other mishaps that goes with building a model TongueBig Grin
The only thing I need to do now is find suitable colors in lacquer that match the paint guide...I tend to stay away from acrylics and enamels as much as possible Smile
No slam against those who do....just my own personal preference Cool

Oh wicked! Good stuff posting this damien. I'll be definately watching with great interest. Is that the Voodoofx lighting kit?

RE: Moebius Jupiter 2 - Damien9479 - 03-04-2010

No the fusion core is from Space Circuits...It's a very well designed circuit Smile
I wouldn't spend my clients hard earned money on VooDoo Fx...again personal preference Cool

RE: Moebius Jupiter 2 - 427 Cobra - 03-05-2010

On that note: A lot of people are raving about the VooDooFX kits, but I still have yet to see anything spectacular about them. He even used one of my threads to advertise with! That's a no-no! Sad

RE: Moebius Jupiter 2 - erospawn - 03-05-2010

fortunately, I've been blessed with the knowlegde, degree, and work experience to be able to build and design my own stuff.. well, most of the circuits can be found on the internet these days.. its just a matter of knowing what you are looking at and being able to combine one or more of them to achieve the desired results. So, I've never really bought anything on line before.

RE: Moebius Jupiter 2 - JAWS - 03-05-2010

RE: Moebius Jupiter 2 - JAWS - 03-22-2010

Hey Damien any updates on this? Really keen to see what you been up to in that.

RE: Moebius Jupiter 2 - Damien9479 - 03-26-2010

Unfortunately not too much is happening right now Sad
Real world problems have prevented me from diving into this full on at the moment
The winter months here were not too kind to my house and the ice and snow did some damage that needed to be fixed ASAP
But I'm hoping this weekend to at least get the main body painted and some sub assemblies done Big Grin

RE: Moebius Jupiter 2 - JAWS - 03-26-2010

Thats no good mate. Priorities first. Look forward to an update buddy.

RE: Moebius Jupiter 2 - 427 Cobra - 03-26-2010

That sucks! I don't know where you're at,but this is the worst winter we've had in years for snow, and ice! I used to do carpentry, and concrete construction for years when I was a teenager working for friends, and relatives. I went into the general construction trade for a long time before, and after the painters' union. I know how bad repairs can get, especially expensive ones! I hope that you can get back to life as usual as soon as possible, not just for this build, but for yourself. Wink

RE: Moebius Jupiter 2 - Damien9479 - 04-12-2010

Ok quick update here....Home repairs are done everything's fine on that front
But now I seem to have lost my motivation for this build somehow??
With this being a paying client build I am not going to half ass my way through it because I am not motivated...It gets 110% or nothing Confused
But I seem to get motivated pretty easily and I do feel it slowly coming back...so when the updates come they will come rapidly...Because I build at a pretty rapid pace Big Grin

RE: Moebius Jupiter 2 - JAWS - 04-12-2010

Good to hear am really looking forward to this build after watching some old episodes this week.

RE: Moebius Jupiter 2 - DarthDuck - 04-12-2010

What?

You fucking slacker! Just because you've got the home repairs behind you doesn't mean it's LazyBoy recliner with pretzels and TV time?

Get back to what you're being paid for!!!!!!

ButtMunch!

(There, was that helpful in the moto department? Um, no? Ooops.)

Ay someone else should stop flappin their feathers & follow his own motivation department into the 'fancy' 'new' 'work room'....

RE: Moebius Jupiter 2 - Damien9479 - 04-13-2010

Hey quackers!!.....I like my lazy-boy!! Big Grin and pretzels too Tongue
I don't really think it as a serious motivation problem as it is too much other shit is catching and diverting my attention away from it Rolleyes
Sound familiar??...I think you suffer from the same thing LOL Tongue

Who me?

Whatever do you mean?

And never mind the intrusive comments interjected by some board owner who modified my post? The nerve, the totally truth-less, fabricated slander! The audacity of that fella! He's got me so upset I might struggle to get back to napping?Dodgy
