Despatch pod 232 - MonsieurTox - 06-05-2010

Hey guys,

Today I worked on the 232 pod.

Thanks to Dave (Dirtydave) and Jay (Scratchy) for the parts I was missing. Thank you my friends !

This afternoon I glued the last bits :

Then I base coated it :

I've drawn the markings on Illustrator and made masks :

Painting and weathering :

The 232 pod looks cleaner than the 223, so I toned down the weathering I made on the 232 (pics are coming).
I think it's better like that :

Yes, 5 8 rad bodies ! That's why we call it "232 pod" and the other one "223" pod because the body is made from 5 SdKfz 223 hulls !

Thanks guys Smile

RE: Despatch pod 232 - 427 Cobra - 06-06-2010

Those look great! The gray is a little dark for my taste, but this is how it was for the original concept. The ILM guys of the day painted it this way. I just wish this was a little bigger to show more detail.

Actually the original were a tad more blue-ish :/ I did my best to match the color but I failed lol The more I looked at the pics of the original paint I did (before I toned down the weathering), the more I like how it was ! Yeah that would be have too cool to have bigger model, at least as big as the escape pod, but they're so fuzzy on screen so why spent more $$ ? Big Grin

Don't suppose we could get the kit lists for the 'Kit Lists' section J?

I'm not the one who ID'ed it (was done by Allan -Imaginager- and Ralphee -Lee-) and I cant recall the plastruct ref for the hemi parts but I can post most of the kits.

RE: Despatch pod 232 - JAWS - 06-08-2010

That would be nice. i'll contact Allan & Lee just to make sure its ok to use his info from their thread. Gotta do things properly.

RE: Despatch pod 232 - MonsieurTox - 06-08-2010

Don't worry, Ralphee already posted the list on his thread :

The number of kits are not always correct (you need 5 flak38 and 5 Karl) and I personally dont think the engine made are made from the Lotus MKIII parts, but everyone can use what they want Smile

RE: Despatch pod 232 - JAWS - 12-19-2011

Julien which wheels did you use?
Ferrari, JPS or Brabham?

RE: Despatch pod 232 - MonsieurTox - 12-20-2011

Dont know lol

To be honest I tried several combination (and hacked several wheels for nothing Tongue).

I know I used either the 312T or B wheel rims on one of the pod (I think the 223), just try to look what's the better. Anyway I cant say mine are 100% accurate, I did my best when I choose them but I cant tell you for sure I'm right...

RE: Despatch pod 232 - MonsieurTox - 12-20-2011

[edit] Looks like I used the 312T parts on the 232, as for the 223 I believe I used a mix of parts from several 1/12 F1...
