Cylon Rifle Panel - ID Help Please - Cylon-Knight - 09-16-2010 Hello all... I was hoping for some ID help from the master builders here on what I understand to be a 32 year mystery! As many probably know the Cylon Rifle had a “side panel" and it was created in the same way as the Galactica and other ships, with parts from model kits. The upper hull from the Revell/Monogram USS Iowa is all I know for the parts, but I don't think that was the only part used. Here is the clearest photo I have of an original panel. http://www.byyourcommand.net/cylongallery/displayimage.php?album=333&pid=55246#top_display_media I have set of resin castings of such a panel, however, I'd LOVE to know what parts were used and try to recreate a set of panels. The hunt for parts and the hands on building of the panels would be a lot of fun to try and tackle. Thanks for any and all help you can offer! RE: Cylon Rifle Panel - ID Help Please - kbilly - 09-16-2010 This is kitbashed for sure. The Iowa makes up a large part of it. The Revell New Jersey may be a sister ship to the Iowa because it looks quite similar. I see a Hasegawa Leopold part up on the top, and there's another part that's familiar but I'll have to look for. RE: Cylon Rifle Panel - ID Help Please - Wombat - 09-16-2010 Ok,heres what i see or at least what i think it is anyway. [attachment=5932] All these kit's where used on the G also. RE: Cylon Rifle Panel - ID Help Please - kbilly - 09-16-2010 I found a pic of the Revell New Jersey
RE: Cylon Rifle Panel - ID Help Please - Wombat - 09-16-2010 I have the Monogram NJ and Aurora Iowa. Both are used on the G again, but it's the Monogram one by the looks of things. Looks like you are correct again KB. Good eye you have there mate! RE: Cylon Rifle Panel - ID Help Please - 427 Cobra - 09-17-2010 How are you guys finding all these tiny parts? I don't wear glasses, but I don't see all the tiny things you guys see in these pictures! I'm glad that you're all nailing down the origins of these models - I just wish I was as proficient at finding them, as you guys are at ID'ing them. What part are you two looking at, and what part of this model did it come from? ~ Cobra Chris
RE: Cylon Rifle Panel - ID Help Please - Cylon-Knight - 09-17-2010 WOW you guys are like lightening! I thought the parts would be from the Galactica, same production... it makes sense. Thanks for working on the IDs there are so many parts, I'll pour over the scans and see if I can find all the parts in their original state so I can get a better idea on what is used. RE: Cylon Rifle Panel - ID Help Please - JAWS - 09-17-2010 All those scans should be in the Kit Scan section. This isn't a scan of the entire model. It's only a snippet of the upper hull. ~ Cobra Chris
RE: Cylon Rifle Panel - ID Help Please - JAWS - 09-22-2010 Chris I meant the scans of the other models listed. RE: Cylon Rifle Panel - ID Help Please - 427 Cobra - 09-23-2010 I understand now. I just wondered what this was from. I see that this is a Cylon rifle. ~ Cobra Chris
RE: Cylon Rifle Panel - ID Help Please - JAWS - 09-24-2010 Well you would think so considering the heading.... RE: Cylon Rifle Panel - ID Help Please - 427 Cobra - 10-01-2010 I meant that this part was on a Cylon rifle. I don't always communicate exactly what I mean. You should that by now, Jase! ![]() ~ Cobra Chris
