Disalvo - Studio Scale Battlestar Galactica - JAWS - 09-27-2010
A well known modeler Angelo Disalvo kindly sent me pictures of his beautiful Battlestar Galactice. Angelo's build was done in the early years of Galactica building when reference was still few & far. Angelo openly aknowleges that some areas are not 'studio accurate' for those rivet counters out there. Im sure no one would say anything other than praise for this artists talent & recognisable achievemnts.

They sure are a beautiful sight kb,it's pitty the pictures never really caputure the true size of theses beasties.

She's a stunner for sure and an awesome build as they all are really.

Angelo is a daily visitor to this site. He's not one to post, not even his own work. I have more pictures of his work i will be posting. My favourite is his Battlestar Gun station that looks exactly like the real model. He has also built the Colonial mover, Cylon Tanker & Gemini Freighter.

Thank you for all the kind words!!! I also want to thank all those who have helped me in the past..without you I wouldn't have gotten this far with any of my builds. Mike,Charles,Mel,George,Brad,Mark,Sean,Bill,Jeremy.....and of course the man that sparked all this "F"n madness Jim Creveling!!! Hope all that have started into this studio scale monster and those that follow keep saying thank you to those mentioned. These guys have put a lot of passion into this hobby....The photos that you see and soon to see is a tribute to them and was an inspration for me.I hope that these photos inspire the next set of ships to come out of dry dock.and for what I 've seen so far you guys are on your way and should be proud of your work. I hope I can also help in some way too.

You are too right there mate.Without the help from a lot of generous people i don't really know how anyone would be able to go about it on there own.Obviously there was some pioneers out there back in the early day's,none more so than Jim C.He's really the one we all should be blaming for our belief that building one of these things is possible.But possible it is as you have shown the same as just a handful of others.They are a rare breed for sure but exactly as you mentioned,seeing any SS Battlestar build is inspiring stuff,but seeing them actually finished is what it's all about and is our prize at th end of the incredible journey.

Incredible and Inspiring are just two of many of the words to describe your build Angelo . But like Phil said ,the Generousity of the builders of these fantastic models are just as incredible ,inspirational , and appreciated ,by us newbies ,and dreamers who are just starting or are about to start this huge ,mysterious and legendary project . Thank you again Angelo and the many other pioneers who have lain alot of groundwork and knowledge out ther for the next generation of ss battlestar builders.
