Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - swfan78 - 10-21-2010 Been working on this for years. Here are some pics of my Falcon. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Got to start gluing things down at some point...still not sure my hull is right so I'm building sub assemblies. Isel RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - kbilly - 10-21-2010 Very nice!!! I really like that radar dish. And you've not got too much further to go on your sidewalls. Bet you can't wait to get those all glued up. Damn I'm really starting to feel like I'm getting left behind now. There's a part in the top pic I'd like to talk more about at some stage
RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - MonsieurTox - 10-21-2010 I'm glad you finally post those pics Isel ! Awesome work, you got most of the parts so now glue them ! It's time to make some progress on this model ! ![]() I second KB's comment, the radar dish is awesome, and from what I understand you started off the fruehauf part... Heavily modded to match the original dish, shouldnt have been an easy task ! RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - JAWS - 10-22-2010 Oh wowser Isel your making a massive contribution to the forum with your first postings. This is awsome mate. Very nice work. Can't wait to see this come together. RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - swfan78 - 10-22-2010 As Julien can attest, they've been like that for a loooong time. Seeing the stuff on here is getting me energized though! Especially with all the new finds! Isel RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - scratchy - 10-22-2010 That's a nice collection of parts ya got there, I'm very envious. RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - swfan78 - 10-23-2010 Modified Fruehaf on the radar dish. ALOT of sanding. (10-21-2010, 10:42 PM)MonsieurTox Wrote: I'm glad you finally post those pics Isel ! RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - mikeg - 10-25-2010 Looking good Isel! Not sure what measurements you had used for the hull, but i used the ones off the studioscale.com website and i believe those are slightly off as my falcon deck ended up too long. building in subassemblies is a really good idea!! RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - swfan78 - 10-26-2010 Got some parts in the mail for you Mike. Let me know when you got em. Isel (10-25-2010, 07:14 AM)mikeg Wrote: Looking good Isel! Keep going to the end. Once you have your subassemblies done, it shouldn't be too much longer until this project is behind you. You're on a roll now, don't stop. You'll be able to get to your Star Destroyer soon. ~ Cobra Chris
RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - eagle1 - 10-27-2010 Beautiful build Isel, thanks for posting those wonderful pics!. Love seeing all those kit parts mate & how they fit together on those side walls. Your radar dish is just incredible, a true piece of workmanship!. Stu RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - swfan78 - 10-28-2010 Stu, Thanks for the kind words. The dish took a considerable amount of time to do. Need to finish the back of the radar dish and get the sidewalls and access subassemblies done. I'm getting there! Isel Too much time and money invested to give up. I'll get her done. RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - kbilly - 11-13-2010 Hey Isel, Was wondering what part you used here? Is it from a hasegawa kit?
RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - MonsieurTox - 11-14-2010 Could be wrong and I cant check my kit right now, but it looks to be from the Fujimi New Jersey. RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - dbhs - 11-14-2010 That looks like one of the guns used on the BSG SS shuttle that has been hollowed out on the backside and with the guns removed. part 21? Tox, you are correct! Fujimi New Jersey it is! I dont have a part number but it's from the kit. Dash RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - kbilly - 11-14-2010 I’m not sure this is the part that is used on the falcon. I just wanted to know what Isel used as it looks pretty close, right size etc. The spacings between the openings is the main tell. If this were morse code then the falcon requires a ‘K’ thick thin thick (dash dot dash). This one is an ‘R’ (dot dash dot). I'll keep looking for K, but would still like to know what you've used here Isel
RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - MonsieurTox - 11-14-2010 The New Jersey was used on ANH stuff but I've never found any part on any of the TESB models but it doesn't mean it was not used on TESB stuff ! RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - swfan78 - 11-18-2010 m Sorry guys I've been on travel and lost track of the thread! I'm pretty sure I used the 1/700 Hasegawa Ticonderoga for that part. Same as on the front of the ANH SD. It has parts without guns. Hadn't noticed the differences in width of the openings. Looks like I may be on the hunt again for the correct part. I don't think the Fujima New Jersey is right either. Same problem. Isel' RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - 427 Cobra - 11-20-2010 At least someone is working on one of these full time, and not clowning around (me) with other things. I just wish I had all the parts for my own build, I wouldn't be so easily distracted! Looking good - I can't wait to see this covered in greeblies. Hopefully this will be have photos taken of it before being primered (hint, hint)! ~ Cobra Chris
RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - swfan78 - 11-21-2010 Oops I just primered the back part of the radar antenna. I'll keep the rest primer free. I'd be happy to answer any questions. At least for what I remember. Isel (11-20-2010, 11:15 AM)427 Cobra Wrote: At least someone is working on one of these full time, and not clowning around (me) with other things. RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - swfan78 - 11-17-2012 Well its been a while since I posted, but I finally made some more progress on the radar dish. I also found a part. The Hasegawa Tirpitz (same part as on the port sidewall) is in there. Nothing is glued down yet. I'm still trying to figure out how to get the right shape to the Entex wheel rim. ![]() Isel RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - peza - 11-22-2012 eh up buddy,ya dish is lookin sweet mym8,keep up the great work!peza RE: Scratchbuilt Millenium Falcon - swfan78 - 12-21-2012 Here are some better pics.
