A few good parts needed - Apophis - 01-02-2011

Hey all, Im in need of a few original parts, that i can cast.
I need one complete engine from the 1/32 revell f4 phantom jet.
I need the engine halves and turkey feathers, to help build the astral queen, i have paypal and am willing to pay for said parts.
thanks, Jerry

RE: A few good parts needed - JAWS - 01-02-2011

Do they have to be 'original' parts or would castings suffice?

RE: A few good parts needed - Apophis - 01-02-2011

I would really like to have the originals, so i can make castings when i need them for other projects.
unless i had a dozen castings.
How much would a dozen castings cost?
I dont want to spend an arm and a leg, if i did i would buy the kit.

Why not buy a mold.

RE: A few good parts needed - Apophis - 01-03-2011

Okay, who has a new mold of both halves and the turkey feathers? the engine has to be hollow and the parts seperate.
I know im sounding difficult, but really im not if you think about it, im just trying to get the most accurate piece for the queen.
Besides, to send the rubber molds for the engines would cost more on air mail than some light weight plastic?
Hell, id pay a decent price for the engine!

RE: A few good parts needed - JAWS - 01-06-2011

the engine is the most important part of that kit. You can score them at a good price. I did. The postage cost me more than the kit.

RE: A few good parts needed - Apophis - 01-07-2011

yes i know, and yes i know it would cost YOU more than I in the U.S., and it isnt fair.
I had scoered one off of ebay a year ago and paid a decent price and when i got it, I had bits and pieces from two kits in it, what I didnt have was the parts that i needed!
every part that is used on a studio model was missing, and when i emailed the seller he told me that his son may have been in it and he said he just glanced in the box and just saw the shrink wrapped wings.
i tried to work with him for a year and all i got was half of my money back which was fair since i got only half of a kit.
So, thats another reason why i only need the engine.

RE: A few good parts needed - Apophis - 01-17-2011

Bump, still need castings or the original fracking engine!

RE: A few good parts needed - DarthDuck - 01-17-2011

Jerry,
I keep watching this and your other threads elsewhere and I understand what you want but have to echo Jason- how often do you hear of someone not needing the entire engine from that plane?
Now if as you say you could use up to twelve of them buggers then why not bite the bullet and buy one kit, make your mold and even resell the kit with "parts off sprue but complete"?Huh

But either way- good luck.

RE: A few good parts needed - Apophis - 01-17-2011

To echo my other post i did buy the whole kit but got fucked on it, and yes it was my fault for not filing a dispute, but i wanted to work out something with the seller and it dragged on til the end of the time limit.
I also stated that if no one had a spare engine i would except castings of it, and also pmed jase and asked how much would it be to buy a mould of said engine, but got no reply.
I also asked how much and offered to buy several castings too,.
I dont need another kit, unless i can get it cheap, thats why i asked for just the engine.

RE: A few good parts needed - MonsieurTox - 01-17-2011

I think Jerry wants just the parts to make the molds then he would send the original parts back to the owner (and he would pay for loaning the parts).

But Jerry, if you're ready to pay to loan the parts, I think you can just buy a kit like they said ! I know you had a bad experience, but I bought 3 of them and I always get the engines... Now most of the kits on eBay are shipped to the US only, it wont be difficult to get one for cheap (you can grab one for $20 and shipping costs wouldnt be a killer !).

I give up.

Obviously not too easily. You keep repeating yourself.Dodgy

RE: A few good parts needed - Apophis - 01-18-2011

the reason i have to keep repeating myself is because you mustve misread what i wrote? (did you get your glasses yet?).
Don why are you trolling? Do you have an engine? i will pay you to let me make a mould of it, if you dont have an engine then please STFU about it.
I WILL go buy another kit just to get the engine.

Jerry,
You've obviously lost any sense of humor you may have had. My "repeat" reference was regarding your own double posts.
Tell me just one more time to "STFU" with or without a 'please' and you'll find out how well I appreciate that.

RE: A few good parts needed - Wombat - 01-19-2011

Hey guy's chill my friends. It's not for me to say but i did find what Don said a lil funny,he was just playing with ya on the double post's problem that keeps happening mate, the same as he does with all of us.

A bit of humor is good for all of us.Smile

OK,i have one half of the engine you are looking for i reckon.I think the detail is slightly different from one half to the other, but only in one area,so perhaps you can do multiple copies of just this part and use that to make the whole engine. You are welcome to it Jerry!!The tail feather part i don't know what it is,but if you can post a picture for me i think i may have that also in a useable condition.

Infact,is there a scan you can post pictures of showing exactly which parts you are looking for just so i am clear?I could go back and read through the thread but this would be easier.

I take it the engine is just the half section,(although you want both halves) that is used on the top lid of the SS G?

Like i said, got one half only but if that helps then no worries?
