Thanks for the welcome. I'm new to studio scale modeling but I've been a kit builder for years. Can someone enlighten me as to what exactly studio scale modeling is? It seems to be a lot of scratch building with specific attention paid to what pieces and parts from various kits were used to create the original studio model.
Also, where can I find studio scale kits for sale? Most of the Star Wars kits that I'm after are either out of production or only offered as built up models. I'm mainly after kits of star fighters other than X Wing.

Nice N Models has the most accurate Star Wars Kits on the market. You want to contact Steve Niesen who goes by 'swpropbuilder'. He has Tie Fighters, Y Wings, Snow Speeder, Probe Droid, Cloud Car, Escape Pod, Imperial Shuttle & others with more in the pipeline.
Oh 'Studio Scale' is a model built to the dame scale using the same materials ss the studio used. You can get real obsessive & go 'Stuidio Accurate' where you build amodel as exactly as possible to what they did in the studio for the filming miniature. Believe me this stuff sucks you in big time...
