i started my build about 3 years ago (on and off),i desided to build my bird in 2 halfs top and bottom,i`m ninety percent finished and had enough of makin little bits of detail for awhile
. i`ve jumped on the bottom now.i came with the idea of bein able to have it in flight or landed,so i`m havin the landin legs either on or off,if there off they`ll have the covers on and held on by magnets which i`ve found some 3mm by 1mm.
here i`ve finished one of the rear landin leg housings and made up the basic cover with 2 magnets mounted on one of the kids lollipop sticks(eat more kids...daddy needs them..ha).and inside the housing there are 2 also. on the metal ruler there are about 30 odd left which i have use for afew of them, like for the boardin ramp and bottom gun turret,if there are any left i will let them go......well so far, i may find more uses for them yet, i`ve been workin on one bit of the rear deck i think it`s by the tyrell belly plate,
first i mocked up there it was to go and then looked for something to build bits of it out of,and i found this
by the end it worked out quite well for a cheap bodge

Kool a 32" with landing gear!!!
Nice build & I see you figured it out before I replied to your pm. You have done a great job. I really love the fact your building landing gear for this bird. I can't say Ive seen anyone do that for the 32". The detail looks sweet. Thanks for sharing.

Damn fine build Peza! +1 on the landing gear idea too. I'm a huge fan of the idea of adding hidden extras into an otherwise 'standard' studio scale model. Little easter eggs of coolness.
![]() Keep us posted on your progress. There are a few of us building or wanting to take a shot at building one of these birds and need all the inspiration we can get! Mike

All good things take time!
And we'll be here when ya have something more to show. Landing gear version, now has that even been attempted before? You'll have the best of both worlds having them removable as you are, great idea!
08-07-2012, 05:26 AM
:cheers buddy the idea is good but the logistics is hard, but with that i wish to havethe boardin ramp the same, up or down for landed.i was thinkin of puttin the ground buzzer in and then i slapped myself...

Looks good so far. You might want to use brass or aluminium tube for the legs if you are going to display it sitting on the deck. Not sure how heavy the model is?

What a great build! Hope to see new posts and pics soon, as I'm doing a landing gear falcon too!
I started mine a few weeks ago doing an aluminium body and went really fast, but I started to slow down, 'cause the bottom half is the first thing I need done and I've not got too many references for it,, damn, isn't there a partmap for the bottom? What did you use as ref? Amazing build again, keep up! Bor.
08-25-2012, 11:16 PM
[eh up buddy thanks buddy,i got some referances off other peoples models there are some builds on RPF and resin illuminati.as for part maps mym8 i`ve scratched all my build apart from 3 1/72 panthers and 1 1/76 panther for the engine decks.so the best person to talk to on that would be mensaboy or jaws mym8.cheers buddy have you any images of your build mym8?hopefully see ya soon........peza

Hi Peza, any new pics?
I knew the image wasn't real, but it should be close to the real linkage...not sure, of course.. Btw, which is the diameter of the tube of the cockpit corridor(not including armor plates)? Got one in 75mm, but looks a bit small..maybe 78mm? Thanx!
10-03-2012, 07:52 AM
eh up buddy,i`ve done mine in 75mm mym8 but by the time you`ve put the armour plating on either side it`s more like 77.it looks good to me(but may not be correct)i have got acouple of images mym8.
i`ve finished the 3 front legs bar the hangin cables and am half way through the first of my back legs,i`ve made the feet, supportin rods and finished the bird cages off tonight(just abit of tiding up to be done to them. i`m plannin to get the most of the scratchin on the legs finished off pretty quick, well by next week or so!which is quick for me!hows yours comin on?

10-03-2012, 08:29 AM
They're looking great! I've done a bit too, using the milling machine I've cut lot of what I've drawing these last weeks with corelDraw. I cut the two halves and the ribs in aluminium, and the "pizza" skin in #1mm pvc sheets. The plating of the upper hull is almost complete and did some detailing too...but came back to the lower side and cut all the parts I needed to do the legs.
I guess I'll have to modify the cockpit I had to make it fit into the 3" tube, damn... I don't have much time left from work these past two weeks, but I' ll try to open a new post with pics before the weekend (I have next week to hurry up and start building "something similiar to a MF"). Holidays! :-P Bor.

Hi Peza
this is what I've done for now... ![]() ![]() ![]() How can you guys do such clean builds?? Mine is full of putty and pen markings, I'm going crazy! ![]() It's my first scratchbuild (that's why I posted such small pics haha), but sometimes it's hard even cut styrene straight pieces.. Thank god I'm doing the plating with the milling machine ![]() The basic shape is almost finished (only the cockpit corridor left-working on it-) and I'm doing some detailing not to lose faith in this As you may see, my legs are different, but I don't dislike them, and they're strong enough to hold the aluminium body and all the weight. Besides, I'm thinking of displaying it in a diorama (thinking bout docking bay 94.. )How is yours going? Post more pics pleeeez Bor.
10-15-2012, 08:33 AM
eh up all,i`ve been doin abit more on these dreaded legs.
i`ve got a little bit of tiding up to do and some small detailing to finish off and thats one back leg finished!OH HAPPY DAYS .here is one image of the progress so far, hope ya like? borg dont put yourself down, that bird looks sweet mym8!if your build is anything like mine it`ll be a marathon not a sprint,i would`nt worry about the pen and putty it all gets covered with paint!i dont know if ya get periods where youn aint going as quick as you`d like but if you rush you only regret!keep us posted on your build and if i can help i will..cheers peza
12-16-2012, 09:36 PM

Nice job!! I just started mine after months of not having the time to do anything but my job and you solved a huge question that was plaguing me...landing gear or no landing gear. I love what you've done and might try my hand at it. So, I might be bugging you with some questions!

eh up all.i`ve made a start on the inside of my boarding ramp.i started to make up the access tube at the top of the ramp, with some 2 and a half " tube.which has been cut to go around the gun turret locations.then i cut out the doorway and firstly sprayed it up with primer and then a high build matt black(all automotive spray cans?all free off a good friend).
next i`ve used milliput white to make up the inside details of the walkway walls
12-30-2012, 12:38 PM
The whole build is looking great there, peza. The landing gear and now this interior section ta go at the top of the ramp is just some real cool eye candy ta boot. It'll add that bit more ta the finished piece for sure.
Fantastic work!
12-30-2012, 07:53 PM
eh up wombat.i cant take the credit for this idea, but as soon as i seen it i asked scratchy if he minded me using it also!he was ok.
i just did`nt want to have a ramp but blocked off at the end.cheers buddy....peza i`ll try to finish it off today, but my good ladies in work and if got the little`uns!ouch!!
01-01-2013, 04:41 PM

,i`ve done abit re today.got the outside all finished ready for detail, but the inside is where i struggle.i can`t make the heights all match up,but alittle trickery and it maybe possible!!here are the images in question hope ya like....cheers peza |
