Man, I was sure that I had a thread here for this project? Did a search but didn't find one. So here it is.
The beginnings of the project can be seen here: http://www.resinilluminati.com/showthread.php?t=494
Finally on the home straight with this one, particularly after the razor sharp rebuild that good mate Phil did on this a while back.
I'd really been stalling on this because I was really worried about putting on the decals correctly. They are iconic on this ship so had to be done right. JT Graphics cam through with the decals and I bit the bullet last weekend and put them on. Nerve-wracking isn't quite the term.
Each letter had to be cut out and spaced correctly. Still not 100% but it looks OK to me. The studio model didn't have the signage on the other side of the yellow container but I will probably add it anyway to stir up the studio scale purists.
I have to reattach the three rearward (WTF?) facing dish antenna to the engine section. That will be done at the end as they are incredibly delicate.
I added in a little cockpit and two pilot figures in the nose cone. The original model has the window painted black, but Lee Stringer had the cool idea to add figures (making the ship approx. 1/500) to his build. Too cool an idea not to copy.
