SS A-wing Trying to get this one much closer.......

        Working on the man hull bucks, I want the curvature in there this time
and the end of the deck area my first attempt didn't have. I also want 
the section that sits behind the canopy to have more of a flair at the bottom.

I am making the keel and cross sections for top and bottom hulls
so they can be removed and stacked on top of each other to
check alignment. Which was a issue with the first try as I only 
made one buck that was off from right to left.

Be interesting to compare notes on the hull shapes we both come up with?

Ah, who can forget Mikes epic Awing, be good to see you go back to it Michael, and yes Rob, that would be awesome to see, one big A wing off, and hey, the donors are all out there, hopefully we can get back and try photograph, and get the cockpit ID'd. I am making a few changes from the original ......you can see 
the other model I have started. WHere the cut out is that creates
the shoulder it had to much arch there so I made a change. There
will also be a change at the rear so there is more of an arch there.
By the way this will be the bottom hull, I have to make the keel a
little different for canopy on the top hull.

I think you shold make one of those Moncalamarian ships someday ! They are awesome and have a ton of details I was not aware of ! And the paintjob is great. This is something for your and your vacforming tool !

I have the two keels taped together .......now it's a process
of just cutting the cross sections for the top hull, and making
sure it all lines up on each side.

!st time with the black clay I like it because it's one consistent color.....
unlike the grey that always seems to have different shades even when 
mixed well and even. Makes it easier to find low spots and high spots
while sanding.

Got all the clay in and skim coat... sanded calling the
top hull finished for now. I am claying the bottom hull 
to the top hull for proper fitment, i will be able to remove it later
i have a sheet of parchment paper between as a barrier.

more snow coming in so nothing else to do...LOL
