Hello All,
First, thank you for the add Jason, much appreciated! Models are nothing new to me, I've been around them literally all of my life, but building models personally is new. I've sat and watched my Dad build models as far back as I can remember, mostly 1/72 scale warbirds, but never had any interest of doing so myself until late 2015 when my sister was diagnosed with cancer. My Dad suggested that maybe I take up modeling as well since he'd mentioned that building models had helped him get through some of the toughest times of his life. He was right. My wife bought me a compressor and an airbrush for Christmas that year and that was that.
I'm an avid Star Wars fan, so I've only done a couple of X-Wings up until this point. Though I did purchase an Airfix P40 kit a month or two back, and when I'm ready, I'll take a shot at building that as well.
So far, I've met some really great people and have enjoyed the model building community as a whole. Lots of friendly and generous people who've shared technique and perspective. I look forward to being a part of this site as well.
