Howdy folks!
For a couple years I've been using Autodesk's Fusion 360 to model a well known space fighter (see pics) with the intention of releasing STL files for folks to be able to print with current consumer SLA resin printers. There are a good handful of other artists out there that have engaged in similar projects, but they typically ask a fee for the files that may be prohibitively high for the budget-minded modeler. My intention is to release the STL files on sites such as Thingiverse for free, and to also provide the native Fusion 360 files for others to use a guide for their own CAD modeling. They can then make tweaks to the geometry to correct errors that I have made with the goal of making it as close to the original studio model as possible. Now that I'm a member of this forum, I'll use the available reference material to refine my CAD model. If I find out that I'm just needlessly repeating work that others have done, then I'll punt and move onto another model! I'll post updates in a thread as my model progresses, although I can't guarantee the timeliness of postings since this is purely a hobby pursuit that I have been working on over the years.
Best wishes,
waterarc
