This Thread is for progress reports on completing BRISFX's Battlestar. Brad from BRISFX has been a long standing follower of Battlestar Galactica & started to build his battlestars before we had all the Kit List & Parts Maps we are fortunate to have now. I have committed myself to helping Brad finish his Battlestar to the standard I believe all Battlestars should be. Thanks Brad for contacting me & I look forward to helping you complete this journey that your input has helped others to. Oh that Colonial Fighter costume in the background is 'Screen Used'. So kool.

Tre' cool! This is very inspiring. I just wonder what more we'll see of this build? I'd love to see this finished. It looks like it needs all the greeblies along the sides, but I'm sure you can help in that department, Jase.

Good to see another Battlestar being built being posted here, and another on the home front at that.Hopefully you'll keep us updated with the rest of the continuing build?SS Battlestars are just awesome, and yours is no different there.
Badass indeed!! Whats that, two in QLD and two in SA. Not bad for a population of ours. Thanks again for posting it here!

Well
After Jasons encouragement i have stripped all the upper parts of the engine section and they are now soaking in brake fluid. When I can work out image size i will post pics. Brad
If you have Photoshop I reduce/save all my pictures to 4 & that works everytime.

Nice post . May I ask , what is the reason for the refit ?

Gee,you wasn't kidding! You have stripped the hell outa that engine stage. It's all for the better though from what you mentioned, and you'll be much happier with the end result once she's back together again mate.
Keep us all posted,Brad.

Hey Brad! This is great to see you back in the Galactica loop again! I haven't caught up with you for several years now and was wondering how you were doing. My Christmas emails to you have been bouncing for a few years in a row.
![]() Anyway, get cracking on that Galactica. It's even older than mine if I recall correctly- now that's OLD! I think you owe it to yourself to get it finished after all these years. Hey, maybe you, Phil, Jase and myself can somehow display them all together one day. That would be a killer photoshoot. Keep us posted on the build. ![]() BTW, there's a mint DeLorean at the National Motor Museum here in the Adelaide hills... Mike (Yeah, the Adelaide one...)
'Helm, make ready to move. Flank speed and fuel be damned!'
Yep thats stripped alright! Ive been with Brad today. He came in for a visit to go over some stuff & take me to meet a couple of guys. Ones in the 'Industry' as a professional model builder, Jim is his name & an extremely nice open friendly guy. The other is Dave & is an avid builder/photographer with really nice skills & again a fantastically nice open person. Both are Jerry Anderson fans & have built some beautiful replicas. I'll write up a thread of my mmeting in the discussion area. I had just a brilliant day meeting these people. Thanks Brad for the intro into your amazing circle of friends. We're going to refit that Battlestar mate to the beauty you deserve her to be.

Just got the old girl outside, have added that extra 10mm to the back end, no for some fresh styrene sheet and it will be better than new, (I HOPE)!!!

It's a damn shame you had to tear all your work back off this!
I'm hoping this will be much faster, and easier to decorate this time around. ~ Cobra Chris

Im responsible for that! It will be totally worth it & yes detailing will be alot faster & more accurate. Get the sander on it Brad! Looking good mate. Well it looks bad but its looking good for the following steps.

No worries Brad. She's coming back together . Slowly, heheheeh.... Im happy with what we got done today. The new top plete will be scribed & waist plates done. So you'll be able to get those kit parts back on within the week mate. I know your desperate for that. The Custom replica parts for the body etc will give your build the sharpness it deserves.

Nice work guy's!!
It's good seeing this thing getting some loving again.By all accounts it's one of the first ones being attempted,so it's a good thing getting her into shape after all his time.Theres nothing quite like a SS Battlestar and there can never be enough of em out there. Keep at it fella's!
09-27-2010, 09:44 AM
Hummmm... I see one major problem with it... it's not at MY house! *evil grin*
Awesome awesome work! That is a great Battlestar build to be proud of.
"All base ships are now in range to attack the colonies."
With the parts from Custom replicas she will come up nice i rekon. Just putting the sharpness back into the details. Lucky Brads pretty handy with an angle grinder!
