Thanks Mike & thanks Richard for those figures. My neckis definately small so that will need fixing... Anyway Ive attached the engine section to the armature now. What a mission that was. Pleanty of creaking going on whilst doing tha. The armature is taller than me when upright just reminds you how freakn big this sucker is She's on now & it aint comin off. The fronts weighed down with 2okg of weights for added assurance she aint goin to do wheelies So hopefully Mikes raider parts will arrive soon & I can finish the bottom section. Its all there just need the Raider parts to go on first so everythings lined up right.

That armature looks amazing in chrome! This definitely makes your build unique. You never realize how big these things are until you get the main sections attached.

Thanks fellas. Stainless steal is the only 2" pipe you can get here. The guy did a fantastic job on it. He'll be making my stand for it also. Just found out we have to move. Through me off course. We're moving into my sister & brother inlaws house. No more inspections & dealing with realestate people. This is it before we buy our own house. I just got notice to stop spending.....

I can't waite to see the body sitting on the armature also... Sounds like you got you acrylics mate & trying to figure out what I have been for the last week... So *I can modify the acrylics laser design & get them recut or we can jump in & cut with the Dremel's???? I might try the latter first & if its not 'adiquate' go for the redesign that I will do regardless. I almost wish I had those CR parts to just lay out....

Ok so hooked in & the bodies on. Just needs to be worked a little to correct eveness. Planning the cut for the floor now. Nice to see her coming to life.

Hey thanks fellas. Your kind words never go unapreciated. Phil thanks also for getting me motivated again also. Its hard when waiting for parts to stay focussed. I'll be glad when the Raider parts arrive so I can get the bottom done. I seem to be all over the place at the moment. The engine plate should be finished aswell but Im still toying with the idea of rebuilding them again. Should have this section straightenned out by tomorrow afternoon.

Hahahaha Funny Doug. I like the thought. had some excellent success today & am 'extremely' happy with what I got done this afternoon. I have the body all assembled & aligned. Its been a big arvy with my mate Dremel & my workshop has acrylic everywhere but its been worth it. Im just so happy to have this hard part out of the way. Hard part? getting the floor on the body through & around the armature! Imarked where the pipe sits. Traced a circle, drew a line through the centre width wise & then cut about 50 times over & over with my stanley knife. I then secured the acrylic with the cut on the edge of my bench & snapped her clean off. Yeeharr I was impressed. Saved me some money from not having to replace if I screwed it up. Which I expected to do. I then got the cutting circle into her & took as much out as possible then hooked in the Dremel ro clean things up. I am seriously so stoked & relieved I have this out the way.

Was this body piece pre-assembled or did you glue all the parts together?

How does the acrylic body secure to the metal frame?

No I had all the parts laser cut. Unfortunately there was a few things that weren't considered before doing so & that where the work came into it. It would have sat nice & tight on the rib supports but Ive had to modify them as I was 5mm to one side putting the body off side. Everything is assembled by myself. I will now work on bevelling the raised panels & scribing the top & raised panels. the parts are not glued down yet so I can bevell the raised panels as they need to be. Im not looking forward to doing all the chips & small detail in this area. The body will be secured to the engine box & some other places.

Yeah Im really happy how its turned out & relieved. I want to concentrate on getting this baby built up. I fear putting too many details on now may result in some sort of catastrophe down the track. I recieved my Salzo V1 Raider in the mail today so that another relief. Just gotta carve the sucker up now

Thats good news Jase!Now you can get back onto the engine section as well.You've got plenty ya can do now there.Yeah,it can be a small problem with knocking part's off but really,thats just gonna happen mate,just hopefully not too many.I've knocked a few off mine already but they glue back on fine.

Well this Raider won't be destroying any Colonial ships again... The old Ozito moto tool made short work of that. I use that for the messy jobs & my Dremel for the precision work. Just remember to do all cutting of resin outside & wear mask & goggles. Its very messy & resin dust is harmful. Very harmful.....

Does anyone know how much I take off the bottom edges to make it the right height?

Well Im really really F*&^t off right now. Again i jump into doing something without triple checking the reference. Ive cut these wrong & while some would say don't worry about it I will & do. Just some more garbage for the bin. I hope I can get another one.

If it's just the front intake end you have cut short then just glue em back on and re cut at the correct length.By the time you slap a little putty around any seam that the CA don't fill you and we will never know.

No its the sides I cut off. There should be about 5mm or so of the outer sides left on. I may be able to rejoin & putty. The other option is to just add the kit parts from the leopold etc that sit along the side. i can fix it but Im still f*&t off......

Hey if you can re glue and just throw a little putty over any seam it'll be fine dude.At the end of the day once it's got paint over it none of us will be any the wiser to it.

Is that raider part from the V1 kit from years ago? I didn't think you could get these any more. Is this a CR offering as part of their Galactica parts?

I've already read through all of the posts on this page, but I still have to ask (if you'll forgive my ignorance) - why are you cutting up your Cylon Raider? Is this intended for another thread, or are you going to use this as parts for the Galactica?

Ok small update but lots of work. A sore neck, eyes later I have drawn the scribe lines for the body. theyre not perfect but as close as I'm going to get them. Still plugging away slowly. Once Ive scribed all these parts I have to bevell/angle the edges That should be fun

Thanks KB. Well about 8hrs later I have scribed all the panels & given it a light dusting of primer. the primer is mainly so I know where the parts sit as they are still clear under the raised panels. I am sooo glad this is out of the way. Just one more piece crossed off the build list. Still many many more complicated pieces to attend to... The feeling of relief is extremely satisfying & rewarding.

Wow, Jase! With the progress you're making this will be done hopefully next year. Let's pray you can get the main structure completely done anyway. I meant to say let's pray you can get the main structure done this year, then finish it entirely sometime early next year!

Finally got my hands on the Bandai 1/24 King Tiger. Will back on this i a week or so now after the move into the new place. can't waite. Was really stressin about the barrel pieces needed for the body. Can't wait to get the old girl out of dry dock....

Great news Jase! I'm SOOOOO jealous of your workshop mate, you have no idea! Is this a new rental place or have you bought it? Man, I need some space like that to really spread out my Galactica bits and pieces. I've always wanted to be able to work around it 360 degrees. Paradise.....

I was discussing Phil's build room with him the other weekend and I decided that an interior wall needs to come down. Easy. I'm showing up next weekend with a sledgehammer and a can pf paint.

Thanks mate. This is my wifes sister & husbands house. We are renting it until we hopefully buy a house later this year. My wife got me a roll of vinyl flooring from her work that looks like timber. Makes the place feel like a real studio. I am very fortunate she lets me have the garage . Can't waite to get back on this baby 7 get the shuttle wrapped up.

Julien thanks my friend. I guess I am very fortunate to have such an understanding wife. Now the computer is out here its easier to access reference & brings mum & the kids out to the shop which is great. They get on Face Book etc & I play around building.
Its agreat space & the flooring my wife got from her work is awsome.

Anyway back into this slowly. The wife bought me a sanding/linisher for my birthday so I can start bevelling the edges of the body panels finally.
Got the last Long Tom pieces on the waiste finally & hope to have some good updates over the next couple of days.
