A balance between the two as you are doing will make it that much more enjoyable for you and without bogging things down too much in the process. It's the best approach in a lot of cases.
Yeah post up a picture of the pair of them and where they both are at. It's probably the best way of going about it one just for consistency between them as you said and the other just to save you from going through the whole process again if you did do one before the other. That way its sorta fresh for the entire process rather than needing to go through it all again.
