And here is a sample of what I mean by scratchbuilding*: cutting parts from sheet styrene stock. 1mm sheet, cut into two different diameters.
*A true scratchbuilder would:
prospect for oil,
bring in a drill-rig,
drill,
strike oil,
refine the oil into the petroleum stocks
the petroleum stocks would then be chemically converted to styrene,
and then make the styrene sheets. Me, I just buy the sheet styrene.
