For a cardboard Battlestar things are shaping up pretty good there. Working out dimensions is pretty hard especially if you don't have part's to measure from. I know it's too late now but a set of plans like what Charles Adams did would have made things a lot easier for you and been a good starting point. His plans are half scale but they included templates for a lot if not all areas from memory. It may have been some good money invested but then you're having fun and things don't look to bad as i said. Because your detailing will be it's own thing it's not like things need to be right on the money anyway.
