Gday Treker & welcome. You should get a vaccume pump with a 9cfm rating. I have been told that 6cfm is adiquate but the manufacturers all recomend 9 which i believe is the highest. My pump does 8-8.5 Curious to know why you don't like using Smooth-on resins & rubber? I personally use them & have excellent success even for a beginner. The Mould Max 30 is soft but firm & excellent for fine detail & large pieces. I use Smooth-Cast 321 for my casting & have had very good feedback from everyone I have supplied parts to.
