Well, yeah, the program that dims the LED's is very time dependant..the program moves down line by line, so in the case of the dimmer, it would be difficult to to have two separate speeds of dimmer..I do have that program polling one of the pins I configued for input to check to see if the switch is closed or open.. If its closed, the fader fades in.. if its open, it slowly fades to off. A chip with a hardware based PWM has an independant ciruit that functions on its own once initilized, leaving the chip to be able to process other functions.
