Now there's 10 different ways to do the same thing and they redesign the icons and interface every year. I have to create and enforce CAD standards at work and it's such a pain to keep everyone on a team doing things the same way.
I can Imagine that would be a pain. Why they have to totally change software just to add new features, baffles me. I'm lucky with Lightwave. They update it all the time, but they try to keep the interface familiar. I really want to get into CNC stuff here at the shop. I know I'm gonna have to learn some kind of cad system, to be able to have the drawings for the G code program to use. I want to at least have a 3 axis router, and hopefully a plasma cutter. I hope I can come up with something to do both. I can't afford any of the machines they sell out there. Even the 4 x 4 foot Plasmacam is over 10 grand. I want at least an 4 x 8 foot machine. I'll end up building it myself. The hard part for me will be the controller boards and software. Oh well, thats what time and money are for. Can't take it with you,
