So from what you've mention i think most know the Galactica's you were involved with.That had to be an experience being involved building them pair up.
Thank you. Yes it was quite a thrill (as well as a Herculean effort). Galactica #1 (which was actually christened the Atlantia) was a save from a deficient build, it had to be extensively pulled apart and reworked, plumbed, hogged, refabbed, and adapted. Still, it came out pretty spectacular. Galactica #2 was more along the par of an aerospace project, with a groundwork design in the 3D-CAD realm from none other than the ace of space, Mr. Charles Adams. This one was assembled in a modular fashion, with nary a hitch. It is currently on an 18-month-long display at Seattle's Science Fiction Museum.
(And no, no plywood was used in either of these, as was in the original Galactica!)
The downside of building two Galacticas is that my wife now hears me shouting out in my sleep things like "Roco!", "Leopold!", and "Yamato!". And on a side note I'm thinking of officially changing my name to Karl Morser.
