Well some of you guy's would have probably seen this posted elsewhere but it fit's in well here,so here it is again.
This was my first attempt at doing a SS scratch build.I'm pretty happy how it turned out and that wouldn't have been possible without a lot of help from a lot of people.When i started it i was going to be happy with something that looked the part but not necessarily accurate.Well i got bitten by the bug and i think it's pretty close although it still does have a couple of fault's as well.Still,i think i achieved my goal and have something that look's pretty much the part?

Mate,theres no reason why your's wont turn out betta i reckon!
Infact it will be betta as it wont have the couple of fault's mine's got!
It's a good fun build once you get started with it dude.

I think once you get it started you'll be surprised how much fun this build actually is!
Least i found it fun,and it's something totally different to building a kit,you'll enjoy it for sure!

Well that weathered worn out look was killing me trying to get it looking like the original Mover's.Not sure how close i got it but it's what i was trying to achieve and it was harder than i liked trying to copy what i was seeing in my reference picture's.Just going for it would have been a lot less stressful for me.
Jase,i don't think them Apogee boy's would have had anything to worry about mate,but i sure would have loved to been a fly on there wall during those day's.

It looks like you used a combination of washes and dry pastel weathering on this. Is that right?

How did you do the white dusty effect on the cargo containers? Is that pastel?

Mate,i threw everything at it and some.My weathering is just arse,i have no skill when it comes to that part,not that i got any skill with the building part either!
Yes, guess you could say i used a wash sorta thing in some area,Mainly on the forward module and engine section in places.The rest was pastels and some good old saliva here and there!
But it sorta all worked out in the end?? lol

The white was a bugger of a thing.I just couldn't get the stuff to stay there using the pastels,so i tried out for the first time one of those Tamiya Weathering Stick's.It worked pretty good i thought,well much betta than the way the pastels were going.You could muck around with it using some water to dilute and thin it out also.
Plus,as a bonus for someone like me,if i stuffed it i could wipe it off with a wet rag or even a bit more saliva.

It's the results that count.

There's so much trial and error involved in modeling but that's where the learning comes in I guess. On my C1 I was having trouble with thinning down acrylics so they were really thin without looking splotchy. I tried out some old watercolor paints I had (the paste watercolors in a tube). What a huge difference. I guess the watercolors have really fine pigments.

I'll be using them again until I learn something better.

The detail and weathering is freaking perfect!

Thanks mate,i tried my best with both part's.
I wouldn't say it's perfect but i think i got it close.
