Well its been a while since Ive laid my hands anything build wise.
In the process Of figuring out how the landing gear is assembled on the SS LG Viper thought I best actually assemble one.
I gathered some test parts from scraps not to be sent out to build one up as a base model.
The model will be painted flat black & used as a display for sales at a show or convention in the future maybe.
First thing I noticed was the landing gear tubs took up 1/4 of the rockets port.
This meant a good section would need to be removed from the thruster base.
I feared it would open up the bottom of the thruster but it did not.
The reference I used was what Mike told me to use.
The old 'Battlestar Galactica Blue Prints' plans.
These were drawn off a studio model to build the 1/1 filming set so are drwan from actual kit parts.
Mike has tried to replicate as best he can the actual kit parts used on the models, which I must say he did a fine job of considering the reference available.
Even now we are discovering new things about the LG Vipers that were used for the filming.
I have posted some pics of Mikes finished build in the sales thread but will probably add them to the complete studio model area also.
