I can only see the lighting video here, looks like you have the other two blocked for copyright reasons. Just like my Galactica video was!

But the landing bays look fantastic. I haven't sorted the landing lights yet, getting worried about that. The engine lights slowly ramping up look really cool, a nice touch. Do they do that automatically or do you slowly wind up the control?

Great, YT didn't say anything about it being blocked. It's my first time dealing with them. . .

All the lights have a full dimming control from "off" through max brightness. It is definitely needed for filming. But, it is also good to have on a display model. After all, you need to be able to set the appropriate brightness levels for each type of lighting.

I have separate circuits for the main lights, nav lights, bay interior back-lighting, engine white lights, and engine red lights. There are also two additional circuits for adding more lights that were not present on the original. As a result, there are a total of seven controls for the various circuits.

No worries, the 2 vids were only unavailable on a mobile phone, fine on the laptop at home.

Man, I didn't think that bunch of cable were going to fit inside the centre arm but they did. That arm would have to remain loose if it all needed to be disconnected after detailing wouldn't it?

I might research some sort of electronics that would allow my lights slowly come on, it looks so cool! I have all the ideas in my head for independent circuits for everything, but also hadn't considered brightness control. I had thought I'd just tinker with filters etc. to get it all looking right, but simple LED brightness control isn't too tricky is it Charles?

I thought lighting this model would be simple, but it was a surprisingly difficult task. I spent a couple months figuring all this out. I'm not kidding you when I say I am writing an entire book on the process. (Seriously, it should be out in a couple months.)

If you don't mind flicker, it is not that difficult to add dimming. But, I don't recommend it for model projects. I find the flicker can be noticeable at times -- and I find it annoying. Also, if you try to film your model on video it becomes very obvious and even more annoying.

I hope to have some printed circuit boards made that will help make the process of linear dimming much easier. (Building the boards I designed from scratch was a PITA.)

But, that's another project. . .

BTW, I don't think it is practical to have any part of the ship come apart after detailing. The details overlap every single joint and assembly in the ship. If you wanted to maintain the ability to separate sections, you would have to compromise some of the detail. . .

Mike, there are plenty of projects I need to catch up on. Fortunately, most are smaller than this one. . . LOL

I do hope to start building a G for myself at long last. That may happen soon!
