Thanks, still taking the weekend off and trying not to do anything at all.
The hull thickness is critical on the edges (i.e. brim trenches). Word has it they used a brass "U" channel to trim the edges and it looks like a pretty tight fit. Some really thin strip styrene was then glued onto that. I don't recommend using any styrene here as it will warp over time. Better to use metal if you can find a practical way to put notches in it.
