Jason,
You have come a long way on your Battlestar and it is looking sweet! You are getting the old girl built pretty fast. It is true that the forward arms are different than the rear arms and this is because the landing bays are canted in on the original. this canting appears to be less than half as deep on the starboard side as it is on the port side so I don't think it was intentional. I had my 3d mock up with canted bays for a year or so then they got to be too much trouble so I made them parallel again. Also the whole ship from bow to stern is bent like a banana to starboard slightly. Remember that any project as big as this involves compromises, when you fit parts to the arms you are going to have to make adjustments to the fit no matter what as all 4 main arms on the original were slightly different sizes and shapes. Jason as you can see in the picture below the landing bays were anything but straight
so the landing bay arms on your replica can be whatever you need them to be all the same or front shorter than rear and it is all good because if you build it like the original people will laugh at your work.

Most of the Galactica Replica builders piss someone off in some online community at some time or other, its just a few that are so good at it that they can piss off everyone at the same time!
