This is my scratch built Northrop HL-10.
It was an experimental lifting body that led to design concepts used in NASA's space shuttle.
It was featured in "The Six Million Dollar Man" as the vehicle that crashed while being flown by Steve Austin, leading to the injuries that had him fitted with Bionic replacements (The HL-10 is seen in the opening credits being launched from the B-52, but its another lifting body the M2F2, that is seen to crash)

I made a basic shape from balsa wood then used car body repair filler to get the smooth finish. The winglets and fins were shaped from acrylic sheet and the final shape was obtained from using Milliput.
