Time I rectified not posting my builds here.. Just toooo lazy
This time my Cloud Car build.
Always liked the lines of the model and was a favourite of mine as a kid.
I like to get as much of the kinks out as i can modelling the design first.
Also always paying attention trying not to make it to sterile or symmetric if the original model wasn't. Basically trying to add some free form to it.
Once it's as close as i can manage to get it it's time to generate a tool path from the model. Here the model is layed out ready for tool path to be generated.
As the original was vac formed I would need to make a plug. This is the first time I have used HDF instead of renshape tooling board in an attempt to cut costs. HDF worked out fine in the end for a limited run as long as you use a heat resistant sealer. Here is the HDF being laminated.
Next step bug your mate to give you the run of his router for the day and watch the plugs emerge, much like watching paint dry but a bit more exciting
Next step...Vac forming and the results.
